Off Topic / Re: What non-MH purchase did you recently make? 2.0

So many Calico Critters and Sylvanians lately. I use to play with Sylvanians in the 80's. Then about 10 years ago, I picked up collecting Sylvanians and Calico Critters for a brief period of time. And in the last year, I've started collecting again. I've been trying to snag families released during my collecting absence, which were many

My two local Toys R Us didn't have much Ever After High left, but I did find a tucked away rerelease signature Lizzie Hearts for $6.49. I think she is the only Lizzie Hearts I didn't own. Super happy  I also picked up an Archery Club Ashlynn for $4.99. I really, really love Ashlynn's new face. She just looks so sweet. The new face makes me think of her as original Ashlynn's younger sister.

Ever After High Discussion / Re: What is your favorite EAH...

1) pair of shoes – SDCC  Cerise’s boots
2) outfit – Legacy Day Cerise or Legacy Day Maddie. Maddie would be a clear winner, but the glitter shedding knocks it down a bit.
3) other accessory- Tri Castle On Lizzie’s flamingo croquet mallet
4) hairstyle – I like soft, glue free hair, so probably first release Justine Dancer. If only considering hairstyle, not hair quality, Way Too Wonderland Lizzie Hearts or signature Duchess Swan.
5) piece of furniture – the tree table

Alpaca fiber to try my hand at a new wig for a BJD. I made a yarn wig that I want to love, except it is way to poofy.

Also some furniture for my Calico Critter/Sylvanian collection.

A whole bunch of articles of clothing from Her Delicate Strength for my first BJD, a Minifee I recently purchased. LOVE the clothes. Still can't find a wig I like nor have I painted a face-up yet. But at least she has clothes   :)

For challenge 3, I can’t really share any workout music, as I don’t listen to music when I exercise anymore. I once did, and found up-tempo, fast beats, and motivational songs often got me moving harder and faster than I think I would otherwise. However, for some years now, I get little enjoyment in music and now prefer podcasts when exercising (or cleaning, or commuting, or anything, really).  My favorite is “We Have Concerns”, a comedy/science based podcast. I also enjoy video game based podcasts, like “The Giant Beastcast” and “The Easy Allies Podcast”.  I listen to others, but these will count as my favorite “three songs”.

Oh, and I promised another meal due to being late last week. This is garlic hummus and light mayo on a Joseph’s Flax Lavash Bread. The fixings are: lettuce, tomato, carrots, onion, celery, red pepper, and jalapeno with a whole dill pickle on the side. I won’t lie; I have a thing for red peppers and include them in any meal that I find they work in.

Late, so I'll post a couple meals this week to make up for it. The first one:

This is my favorite pasta replacement. I take a zucchini, a red pepper, and two jalapeno peppers and cut them into thin pieces and then broil them. Then I add raw shredded carrots (or cut my own carrots). Then mix it all up with my favorite jarred tomato sauce. You can omit the jalapeno peppers if you don't like the heat and can also make your own tomato sauce. You can also add a serving of pasta to it if you want something more than an all vegetable meal. I have some corn on the side this time, but I also enjoy this with veggie dogs or something else that pairs well with tomato.

Need all the points I can get! Here's my week one photo:

Batgirl posing on my bike this morning before a ride on the rail trail.

As for my first week, Sunday I spend a couple of hours making dinners for the week and it was a big success! So much so, that I spent another couple hours this morning making dinners for this coming week. I got plenty of cardio in. However, I did not do any resistance training, which was one of my goals. I'm willing to run for an hour strait, with my muscles and lungs burning, yet, I'm not willing to lift weights for even as little time as twenty minutes. I don't know what I can do to motivate me.

I'm totally in. Writing up my submission post right now.

Just in the nick of time,

Age:  Thirties
Gender:   Female
Height:  5’5”
Weight:  Far more than what is recommended for my age and height

Worst habit(s):  Binge eating. After work, making meal decisions that are convenient instead of what’s best for me. I love high intensity cardio exercise (I run, hike, snowshoe, bike,  etc.), but when time is limited in a day, that is the first thing to get cut. In my mind, if I don’t have at least an hour to dedicate to the activity, then it’s not worth doing. Also, I need to stick to a resistance training program. Every time I start using weights, I’ve always abandoned them and as a result, I have very little upper body strength.

GOALS
1.) What is your main goal that you hope to achieve with this challenge? To lose weight and make exercise a priority each day.
2.) What is your goal weight? For this challenge, I’m hoping to lose about 30 pounds
3.) What habits do you want to break? Binge eating. Making convenient meals instead of healthier ones. Recognize that any exercise is better than no exercise, so being content even with short sessions in a day.
4.) What habits do you want to develop? Preparing meals in advance so I’m less likely to take the easy road. Start and stick to a resistance training workout. Make exercise a priority most days, and be okay if I only get in 20 minutes.

PLAN
1.) What program will you be following (in detail! Let's plan our success and stick to it!).
Start a resistance training program 2 days a week. On the weekends, start making week day meals in advance, portioning them out in tupperware for individual days of the week.
2.) What steps are you going to take to improve your nutrition?  Having healthy meals prepared in advance. Portion control will be my aim. Making sure I have healthy snacks on hand at all times as well.
3.) What are your reasons for wanting to join this challenge and get healthier? There are a lot of things I already do right when it comes to my health, like walking 15 minutes each morning with a coworker and incorporating vegetables into almost every meal I eat. And when time permits, I love high intensity cardio exercise. However, I know there are decisions I’m making that sabotage myself, and I need to replace those bad habits with ones that reinforce the good things I’m already doing.

REWARDS
1.) What are you going to reward yourself with? It doesn't have to be dolls at all!
For every point I receive, I’m going to put $1 aside to spend. I recently purchsed my first BJD doll. Although the initial money was a pretty penny, I learnt the spending continues when trying to purchase a wig, shoes (man, are their shoes expensive!), clothes, etc. for it.

Congratulations on the win!

I'm playing FF15 now. Also, I went a little nuts on Playstation's 50% off New Year's sale, where I purchased Abzu, Talos Principle, Witness, and Inside. I just need to carve out some time to play these puzzle games. Still impatiently waiting for the next DS3 DLC.

The Ever After High Tricastleon Doll 3-Pack is reduced 25%, from $49.99 to $37.49. Unfortunately, I only want Hunter and his bow accessories so I find the price still a bit to high.

The sign at my local TRU was $10.00 for all MH and EAH dolls regularly priced $19.99.

I totally feel your frustration. I've put so much effort into trying to find glue free dolls in the EAH and MH lines and it has become mentally exhausting. I look like a crazy person as I press heads of boxed dolls in the toy aisle to see if they are hard. And so many doll reviewers don't mention if the doll is glue free, yet that has become the most important factor for me when considering a new doll.

Whether dolls will have glue or not isn't consistent among lines so I can't predict when purchasing site unseen. For example, I purchased a glue free Frights, Camera, Action Clawdeen and Cleo, so I hoped Draculaura would be glue free. Unfortunately, not so.  Even the same doll in the same line isn't consistent. I purchased 3 Signature Melody Pipers when they hit clearance at Target, and two were glue free, one had glue head.

Its sad when I see a beautiful face up and hair on a doll with a hard glue filled head; I know they may be a ticking time bomb of leakage.  :(

Assuming the order of the names was still the same, and seeing as 16660BG1 is Venus, I was able to successfully get a Clawdeen with number 16660BJ1 at Target.

May I ask, how did you make an account on Matty Collector? I was hoping to make an account before the SDCC sale Monday, therefore having all my information pre-saved.  The only way I saw to create an account and input my information (address, credit card) was when making a purchase, but I have no interest in purchasing something before the sale. Is there a way to get around that?
