Anybody watching any of the new seasonal shows?

I ended up, originally, only watching like 2, but it turned into 5.

  • Run with the Wind: It's a running/track show by Production I.G.; they did Haikyuu and Kuroko's Basketball. I am already really enjoying it. Especially the ending song, which I'm obsessed with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MO3uUf1KMXM
  • Tsurune: It's a Kyoto Animation show about archery. Love it already as well. I am basically just thinking it as Free! but with archery. It's just beautiful like basically all KyoAni shows. I know this is going to be my anime of the season. I'm so biased haha.
  • Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai: Definitely more of a unique show. The title makes you think of something completely different. I am really enjoying it because it's humor is more on the sarcastic/deadpan side and the plot is quite interesting.
  • Boarding School Juliet: Pretty much watching this because I'm a sucker for Romantic Comedies in a School setting. I also enjoy Shakespearean themes. It's one of the more unique ones because the romance part doesn't seem to be dragging on. It's more about the couple living their lives as a couple in secret, than it is about the journey of them becoming a couple. Not the best, but it's fun.
  • Zombieland Saga: This one is such a fun surprise. I think it's best to go in blind. It's an idol show but with a huge and amazing twist.

Haha scratch all of that.. I went with a site called Eknight Media and got them cheaper and with free shipping.
I also don't have to pay right away; only when the items actually are ready to ship, so I can prepare better.

I feel like I'm turning this into just a Nendoroid topic, so I apologize!

Has anyone had any experience with Crunchyroll's store?
I noticed that:
1.The two Idolish7 Nendoroids are currently for pre-order on there for the cheapest price I've seen them. I hate how pricey they can be..

2.That premium members (which my brother is) get a little discount.

I was just wondering how they were? I trust them, but I feel like it's good to get other opinions.

I have bought from them before! They're not bad at all, but better for someone in the US (being in Australia, their international shipping is actually pretty killer). They're often a bit overpriced on some products, but for items that are licensed by region, they're usually one of the top options (I think Idolish7 is one of those IPs, for example; so are a lot of products from Aniplex, so I've used them for statuettes before).

In terms of other stores, also recommend Hobby Life Japan, and especially Big Bad Toy Store if you're in the US, though. BBTS does more western items, but does carry some Nendoroids and Figmas, etc. from Japan, usually at very good prices. My absolute last resorts are Nippon Yasan and CD Japan. They're more expensive, and they both typically require pre-paid for pre-orders rather than pay-when-it-comes, like HLJ and AmiAmi.

Thank you for the advice! Unfortunately, BBTS only has one available for the preorder at this point, and I would rather get both at the same time.
It looks like Tokyo Otaku Mode also has them, and a bit cheaper, plus they are having a sale tomorrow. So I may go for them, but it's awesome to know that CR's shop is good.

While I do love Harry Potter, I never really get merch except clothing related. They look really good though.
I hope they get stocked at like Hot Topic or Box Lunch or something. I've realized how tough it can be to get Nendoroids.
Nendoroids are pricey, so I have to be specific with the ones I get.
I only have Ariel right now.. But I have been eyeing getting some Haikyuu! and Idolish7 ones.

I just want Good Smile to do my Free! boys..

Sadly, GSC will never touch a KyoAni production again. :(

No one knows the details, but something went wrong during their production of the Free! Figmas a few years ago when the first season came out. They made Haruka and Makoto and that was it, and they haven't made a single product for KyoAni projects since. It's really baffling, because their K-On figures were crazy popular, and the Haruka and Makoto Figmas are impossible to find now, but they just don't do it for some reason.

It makes me super sad, because I'd totally love the Dragon Maid cast as Figmas or Nendos.

Also, for Nendos and other older figures, check out Mandarake. They're a large chain of secondhand stores in Japan, and I've had excellent experiences with them in the past. I've bought several figures over the years, and they were all in excellent condition (they carefully assess all intake items and list them according to box condition and item condition; I've gotten some brand new figures for great deals, because the boxes had dinged corners).

Well that is so sad.. Aww. What a shame. KyoAni has such amazing characters. Not enough figures of all of the guys unfortunately. I have an Altair Makoto (my favorite guy) and a Haru one coming in the mail soon. And while I love them, I just want more.

I have definitely checked out Mandarake before, I just need to check it more when I am actually ready to purchase some haha.

I have Harry on pre-order and fully intend to pre-order Hermione and Ron as well.
Ideally, I would love to see Newt and Snape (I'm in love with Snape ♥) in this line.

Claire, I would highly recommend checking out AmiAmi for Nendoroids, if you don't use them already.  They're discounted from Good Smile's store, you can choose from several mail couriers (Good Smile doesn't allow you to choose your courier), they have really good deals on pre-owned figures, and it's virtually always cheaper than going through a western retail store.
For example: I bought Nendoroid D.Va for $45.30 shipped.  But at Hot Topic she is $50.90 plus shipping, and at GameStop she is $59.99 shipped.
It's still a lot for one figure, but it's a little better.

Yeah I have a few sites I'm keeping an eye on. Most of the ones I want are "older" so finding them on AmiAmi can be difficult, since I missed that window to order them.
Right now Ebay is the best bet since sites like HT and Gamestop really only have certain ones, like Overwatch and some randoms.

Monster Discussion / Re: Do you ever feel... overwhelmed by your collection?
« on: September 20, 2018, 05:59:51 PM »
Not with these dolls, since I only have like 4, but for sure.

About a month ago, I decided I no longer wanted all of my "Superhero" Funko POPs (Various DC Comics and the common female DC Bombshells).
I packed them all up, went to 2nd and Charles, and sold them all (for a horrible price). Honestly, I don't regret it at all.
I just stopped wanting to collect those and just be done with it. Didn't want the hassle of shipping individually and dealing with that.

A similar thing is happening to my DCSHG dolls. I am not ready to get rid of them, but I am constantly thinking "Man.. I don't really want most of these anymore." I pretty much just bought into the hype for that first wave.
Looking at them now, I will probably only keep Batgirl, Starfire, and maybe Supergirl. I have Harley, Ivy, Bumblebee, Frost, WW, and SDCC Katana as well. I just don't like them as much unfortunately.

It's both me feeling like I need a more "grown up" room, even though I'm only 23. And feeling like it's claustrophobic and I constantly want to redecorate/shuffle things around, but I don't have the room to do that, so it gets stale.
Plus, I just want to collect other things.

It may mean that you want to get rid of the ones you don't love as much. Maybe try the "packing a few away for a while to see how you fair" thing.  Also, try and mix it up.

Honestly, they didnít even give this notice that publicly.
Yeah, its on Twitter, but it was a reply to some random.

It is either buried or people wonít see it unless they search ĎTweets and Repliesí.

Itís like an afterthought, which makes me sad.

It's probably been like a total of 4 days, but I started and caught up with My Hero Academia.

Really really enjoying the show. I understand everyone's hype around it.

The main thing I really appreciate about My Hero Academia, is that most of the students in 1-A have gotten some kind of character development. It's not just focusing on the "core 5".
It's refreshing that the more "background-y characters" get some attention in the spotlight.
There is really only like 2 or 3 characters (in the main class) that haven't had a "special moment", so I hope that as the show goes on,
we learn more about them.

Claire, have you ever watched Say 'I Love You'?  You'd probably like that one a lot.

I havenít but its definitely on my list! My... freakishly long list..

XD  I know right?  I've lost count of how many titles are in my queue now. lol

My Little Monster is another really good romcom.  It's very funny and cute, and the characters are fantastic.
I might have watched My Little Monster? Wasn't there a chicken? I don't recall much else. My boyf at the time wanted me to watch it..

Yep.  The lead male character adopts a chicken and keeps it at the school.

I just watched this! So cuuute. Too bad there was never a second season. The relationships are interesting and I want them to flesh it out more.
Definitely a more unique approach to Romance animes. I appreciated how blunt and honest the main characters were.
More happened in the very first episode than most other animes do in their entire first season haha.

who uses amazon smile? it donates to charity on your behalf, as long as you use the extension

I do. I use WWF because I feel like most people don't donate to animal charities enough.

I wish this was a thing I knew about years ago, I used Amazon wayyy more back then.

Don't know if anyone else has seen these, but I figured I would show them off.
Amy Mebberson (she's the artist behind Pocket Princesses/she has her own comic series now), John McDonald (Disney Sculptor), and Hasbro are teaming up for figures called Princess Comic Action Figures!

I've adored Amy's PP pictures for a few years now.

I just find them really cute; I may pick up that Ariel pack.
They are exclusive to Target and will be coming out August 1st!

I watched Kamigami no Asobi which is basically a reverse harem with a human girl and Gods from different mythologies.
And I honestly really loved it.
It was funny, the MC isn't some bland Mary-Sue (which is my main problem with reverse harems), and the addition of Gods is a huge interest for me.

The animation style is wonderful as well and the Gods are extremely attractive obviously. Just a fun show.

I love the animation personally. I didnít grow up with SheRa, but I might check this out.

I thought the animation looked like a mix of Steven Universe and modern Studio Ghibli.
Itís very pleasing to the eyes.

While I'm so glad I didn't really need/want anything for SDCC this year.. I also preordered the Hocus Pocus POPs and am definitely going to get the new Sora and Soldier Heartless that just leaked...
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

And since those just leaked, I have a feeling the whole next wave will show up soon too. Ugh.

I am thinking of getting rid of anything that's not Disney/Kingdom Hearts from my collection. Basically that's all I have anyways, but I do have all of the regular variants of the DC Bombshells ladies and some random other superheroes.
It's just a lot and I'm not feeling it anymore haha. (If anyone wants to buy, PM me. For real).

Ahaha also on my list. It's a mess. That's why I went with a quick 12 episode anime. I knew I could just watch it in a day and be done with it.
I'm not watching as many animes this season, so hopefully I can knock off some on my "to watch" list.
Pretty much only 2 new ones and a few continuations/new season.

I am actually really glad I got back into anime. It's just a fun medium.
