Thank you    respositob for the advice.  I'll have to get a pair of plastic gloves now.  (Need them anyway, as I also want to dye a couple Dawn dolls tan.)

No problem! Always happy to help.

Yesterday was my birthday party! I got a lot of cool stuff!

I got the American Girl doll Gourmet Kitchen set with money from my Nonna and my sister. American Girl was having a sale if you spend $200 or over you'd get 20% off so I got the playset for exactly $200 instead of $250. Also during the sale, AG Rewards members got double points to put towards a future purchase, so I added 400 points to the existing 96 in my account, aka $20 worth of free stuff next month!

With an Amazon gift card from my aunt and uncle I got Julie's pet bunny (a discontinued American Girl item Amazon happened to be selling) (SEE EDIT)and two pairs of off-brand 18-inch doll shoes that I'm hoping will fit American Girl dolls.

Super excited for my stuff to arrive and very grateful to my generous family for the birthday presents!

EDIT: So Julie's bunny came in the mail yesterday, and I was very unhappy when I discovered that I had received the wrong version. :annoyed:

American Girl made two versions of Julie's bunny and they seller sent me the newer version even though the picture in the Amazon listing was of the older version. So either they flat-out lied and thought the buyer wouldn't notice the difference or they didn't know they difference themselves (even though it's pretty obvious). I explicitly ordered from this Amazon seller because I thought they had the discontinued bunny for the same price as the new bunny. :annoyed: Oh, well. I plan on returning the item and buying something else. Just mad that I wasted my time.

Went thrift shopping again at the Goodwill and found four more Bratz dolls and a Bratz Babyz. I'm having trouble identifying one of the regular sized Bratz, so I'll probably be posting a picture soon of the doll so you guys can help with ID.

I purchased some Goo Gone, to see if that will help with glue hair, and also sticky hair.  (one of my dolls accidentally had soda dumped on her hair)

I've tried Goo Gone before and it works like a charm. You just have to make sure you wear gloves to protect yourself and wash all of it out of the dolls' hair. It might take a few tries. Good luck!

My aunt took me to the Disney Store for an early birthday gift, and I picked out four Classic dolls; Mulan and Moana, and then Gaston and the Beast to go with my Classic Belle. Super happy with what I got!

I got a Barbie Fashionista with the extra outfits at Tuesday Morning (I believe she's #34), a nude Bratzillaz Meygana from the Magic Night Out at Goodwill, and a straightening iron with adjustable heat to use on doll hair.

I got a gently used Apple White at Goodwill for $1.99. I believe she is the Legacy Day version, but I'll need to look that up to confirm it.

UPDATE: She is indeed from the Legacy Day line. :)

I went shopping with my aunt at Goodwill and Tuesday Morning. Scored big at both places! At Tuesday Morning I got Ghoul-la-la locker Clawdeen and Surf-to-Turf Lagoona for $7.99 each. At Goodwill I found a used Viperine Gorgon and an Original Ghouls Draculaura.

But what I'm super excited about is that I found a used basic Holt Hyde! He's missing most of his accessories, his shirt has a huge stain on it, and his legs are loose, but otherwise I think he'll clean up nicely!

EDIT: I totally forgot that Holt's missing his arms and hands. If anyone has them for sale in decent condition and for a good price let me know, although I won't be able to purchase them until I get back home. I'm currently staying with my aunt in Illinois. :)

Sightings / Re: TUESDAY MORNING: Finds & Sales
« on: July 09, 2018, 08:12:35 AM »
I'm visiting family in Illinois and we went to a Tuesday Morning there. I found loads of doll stuff: EAH Back to School, Basic Meeshell Mermaid and Jillian Beanstalk, MH Shriek Wrecked, How do you boo? Draculaura, Ghoul-la-la locker Clawdeen ($7.99), Surf-to-Turf Lagoona ($7.99), Electrified Twyla, the Dead Tired rereleases (I think they were 5.99), tons of Barbie Fashionistas, (single dolls for $6.99, and the dolls with fashions for $14.99), Barbie: The Look dolls, and even a Pullip ($49.99). I'm sure there was more stuff too that I'm forgetting about.

If you live in the suburbs near Chicago, and are searching for some good deals, I would definitely check your Tuesday Mornings! :)

Went to the Disney store and to see if they still had the older version Classic dolls that come with companions. Turns out they only had a few of them, I think it was Pocahontas, Mulan, and Belle, possibly Aurora and Ariel, I'm not a hundred percent sure. Anyway, I took home a Pocahontas and a Belle. Now just to find a place to display them... :hmm:

I got Journey Girls doll Callie as well as a Journey Girls baking set at Toys R Us.

I had seen the baking set earlier and loved it because it had 18-inch doll sized cannolis (I'm 50% Italian. ), but didn't have the funds for it at the time. So I went back today for it. At first I was super disappointed because they weren't with the other Journey Girls stuff and I thought they had sold out, even though they had had a million of them last time. I looked around to see if there was anything else I wanted, and, low and behold! I found two baking sets at the end of an aisle with a bunch of Barbie stuff!

Yeah, since they're going out of business, the whole store really had no rhyme or reason to it. :hmm:

Also I just fully embraced my attachment issues I have with my baby blanket cause I got a laundry bag specifically so it wouldn't get caught on stuff in the wash. I'm 22 :/

Don't feel any shame about still liking your baby blanket. I'm 16 and I still sleep with mine!

Pharrah de Nile at Target! She's a little wonky but they only had two left and with Monster High disappearing from shelves, I didn't want to miss out. I just picked the less wonkier of the two! XD

Monster Discussion / Re: Seasonal Doll Displays
« on: June 12, 2018, 04:54:13 PM »
There are certain dolls I always keep on display, but I have one shelf dedicated to the Monster High seasonal dolls. Right now, my Skull Shores, Ghouls' Getaway, and Shriek Wrecked dolls are displayed. I set them up with an old Barbie pool playset and they look awesome!

During September I'll display my school-themed dolls, such as Student Disembody Council and Freaky Field Trip. In December I put out my Sweet Screams dolls, because for some reason they remind me of Christmas. And in the Spring months, my Gloom and Bloom dolls get a turn on my shelf.

I swap out my My Little Pony shelf, too. And as for my American Girl dolls, I dress them for the particular season or holiday and decorate their dollhouse accordingly.
If I had the room, I'd be making a ton of seasonal stuff for them- especially salt dough pumpkins. I can't wait to have room for enough room for a FdC and Shriekwrecked setup.
My plan for Halloween this year was to buy a bunch of cheap, doll-sized decorations at Target and/or Walmart. I never even thought about making pumpkins, but that's a great idea. I might try that once Halloween rolls around.

I totally know what you mean about not having space for displays, that why I only have one seasonal shelf! :)

American Girl was having a sale where you could get up to 65% off of select products. I told my parents about it and they offered to buy me some stuff as an early birthday present! I got five things: a couch, a popcorn machine set, a cute little blender and milkshake set, and two sets of pajamas. I'm super excited, and of course grateful to my parents!

My sister and I were getting our hair cut at a salon near our local Toys R Us, so we stopped in. I got DC Superhero Girls Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn at 50%.

Your shelves look awesome! I'm especially loving the G2 section. The Electrified ghouls are so pretty!

Thank you! They are beautiful, love their bright colors! I just need the Walmart ones now!

Best of luck tracking them down! :)

I got the Journey Girls loft bed from Toys R Us at 50% off due to the liquidation sale. Wanted to get some other stuff, too, but my funds are limited right now.
