Definitely.  I have probably 100 only.  The biggest issue for me is that i play with 90% of mine.  I have 2 Barbie houses & 2 finnby ikea shelves for my dolls.

When i get too ill or depressed to interact with them it just looks like a mess and a waste of space.  So, I'll usually line then all back up for display... Then tear that apart in a few weeks when i feel like playing again.

I have 10 dolls in boxes and am working on getting used ones of them so i can play with them & not be tempted to open anymore.

Playing with dolls is very therapeutic for me.  And i say play, but i make things for them and customize in addition to writing out adventure stories & taking pictures. On days i can't seem to feel my friend in there ill tinker with cams and make a new friend.  MH dolls are the most enriching aspect of my chronic illness life.

I honestly exhaust myself messing with dolls.  Anything that mentally draining must be doing it's part to keep my mind sharp!  It's certainly good patience practice.

I've had periods where i remove ones i feel like selling and store them to get a feel for selling, but they eventually come back out and I've never sold a single Monster High doll.

Im aware that i have a collection that could appreciate in value and i could make money off of.  But, i sold my vintage Spectra collection in a dire time & miss it and don't feel good about that, so i think the regret of letting go of monster high dolls, for me, would be monstrous.

For me, Monster High dolls are all the friends and family i have.  I live an isolated life and struggle with depression.  Its not an exaggeration to say my Monster High family is a life saver for me.  And that family includes fellow collectors and customizers.

Thank you for your support.

Its a real shame a Bratz doll isn't a donation incentive.  A physical item, bumper sticker, at a low $5 donation is actually pretty cool though.

Who wants to donate?

Copied from campaign site:

You can be a part of this historic movement to #SaveToysRUs by donating today!  Your donation will help to ensure that generations to come can “always be a Toys“R”Us kid” and save employee jobs that are at stake should the company cease operation.

The deadline for reaching the $1 billion goal is Memorial Day, May 28, 2018. The funds collected through this campaign would be used in the formulation of a bid to acquire some Toys“R”Us assets through the bankruptcy process. This is not a charitable donation, and certain donor disclosures apply.

PLEASE READ BEFORE DONATING: Be advised that this is not a donation to a charitable cause, and there is no tax deduction available. It is a donation to a potential commercial venture. The funds raised would be added to other capital being gathered by the potential purchasers of some or all of Toys“R”Us.  A donation to this campaign doesn't qualify you to claim equity in any potential acquisition; it simply means you want future generations to be Toys“R”Us kids.

Therefore, before donating, please note that there is no guarantee that the offer to purchase Toys“R”Us described above will be made or accepted. You are donating “at your own risk.” If your donation is not used to achieve the purchase of Toys“R”Us in some form, it will be returned to you.

Off Topic / Re: Kaybee Toys returning!
« on: March 19, 2018, 11:47:29 AM »
In my area it meant no more toy store at the mall.  Toys r us opened literally right across the street from both our good malls.  A kb outlet hung on for so long in the less good mall it became a clearance wonderland & I got many Sailor Moon dolls there.  The toys r us outside that mall has actually already closed at this point.

My first job was at KB Toys, so my nostalgia for it is stronger than tru.  Customers frantic for furby (so many stolen furbies!) & the launch of the Sega Dreamcast.

Itd be amazing if I the vacant tru buildings just became kb toy stores.  My understanding is that another company, not actually tru, owns many of the buildings & they could be purchased and stay open.  Maybe that's what kb plans to do.

What's very cool, to me, is that this company looking to resurrect kb isn't swooping in on the market following tru fall.  They purchased kb 2 years ago and this has been in the works, but is now bein expedited.  And they have brought back other companies in the name of nostalgia, so it's like Good vibes.

It was such a shame when tru put kb out of business & I feel like this is some heavy karmic balance.

Off Topic / Re: Toys R Us Stores Closing
« on: March 09, 2018, 03:18:16 PM »
Just read the news and ran straight here. My tru want hit by the first vwave of closings, but their mh eah section is very very thin as is, so it doesn't even mean i can get there at opening (its literally right across the street from me) and get great deals on mh.  So hard to find the silver lining.

This is what technology has brought us!!!

The next closest tru gave zero notice itvwas closing and just poofed out of existence and it wasn't even on the list.  So I've been aware and fearful of such news.

I don't know any way we can stop this.  Tru replaced children's palace and kaybee but nowadays its almost foolish to have brick and mortar stores when you can just be an online business.

This is so dreadful. I don't buy dolls online for the obvious reason of factory flaws and eye wonk.
But also the very personal draw i have to a particular doll despite her parts all being the same as a dozen before me, the sum of those parts is somhow greater. The placement of Rochelle's freckles. The tone of those lips. The positioning of the pattern on every dress is different.

Im so sad im like mourning too soon. News is a doom machine and fear is pouring out of the hearts of all of us who remain children at ours.

Someone got one repackaged in G2 box before xmas. I don't have her so I'm not sure if there are any changes to her design with the rerelease. Exiting tho.i missed her first time around (was hoping someone would gift her to me) and i don't recall wonk really, but thinly and blurry painted faces for her were common.

Hollar.com has a quite large selection of MH dolls.  *They are a bit overpriced* and with the exception of a few are less expensive on ebay.

They're between $14.99 & $34.99

But there's Power Ghouls, Scary Tales, Roller Maze, Scaris, Marisol, Batsy, Kjersti, Kyomi, Dead tired,Skull shores, even Sweet 1600... To name a few.

I think the I heart shoes Cleo $28.99 and Draculaura $24.99 are about the same on eBay. And the G2 and G2.5 are not outrageous ly priced either.

The site indicates theres only a few left of each, so lemme know if ya snag any.

My thinking is revoltech.

A search of "revoltech joints on monster high" brings up drool worthy photos of Torelei and Spectra on glow and ghost CAM bods. OylOul doesn't seem to have a tutorial or explanation of what or how. But it's the dream ! The whole photostream is actually awesome but nsfw.

« on: November 10, 2017, 07:51:06 PM »
I agree with Kozern. I dont consider Spectra to be core.

I love your idea to sort by movies. And that'd put Spectra under "Why Do Ghouls Fall in Love"; her movie debut.

Sorting by species would be cool too.

Yay G1 and G2 separate.

Keep up the great work. Your site is so helpful! Thank you <3

Wow!! You can do G1 eyes!! That's amazing; it looks factory.

It isn't the bigness of g2 eyes that I dislike; it's that they are so innocent and doe eyed.

You've restored her fierceness.

walmart.com has Beast Freaky Friend Skelita on clearance for $29.97

Shriekwrecked Dayna and Draculaura clearance each $6.97.

I got Skelita and Draculaura & shipping was free ^ - ^

Such a let down it's Xmas centric, but the last minute of the movie makes up for that!!!

I will riot if that isn't continuity with future webisodes. Game changer.

I had a blast playing Pokemonster high snap , going forward b and backward in SLO mo to catch all the BGers. Boys boys boys.

Alicia is sooo rad!! I wish she came with a deliver playset that made her lines and eyes glow whenever she was plugged in. Her look is head to toe weird fashion perfection.

Overall this movie was really lame tho.

If they're going to make dolls for kids so young (which they clearly are) then just give us the rubbery snap-on clothing ala Equestria girls and give us monsterously cool fashion details. I know they can do that pretty well since the mini Barbie Starlight Adventure twins have cute swappable rubber skirts. Those twins are $5.98 on clearance at my TRU and yesterday all clearance was an additional %15 off.  But I got the last heart hands Barbie and a live pet ladybug (for my cat) instead...kinna regret it.

Monster Discussion / Re: Monster High Kids Meal Toys at BK
« on: October 24, 2017, 01:35:28 PM »
I got that watch. It's not impressive. The image of Frankie is just a sticker; not one you put on the watch yourself tho. If only it were molded. That whole Frankie part flips up on a hinge and there's a very small digital watch display with a lot of empty space around it; it'd have been cool if this "toy" came with stickers to put on the inside area. I have small wrists, closer to child size than adult and on the last (typical McDs watch peg hole) clasp it's too loose like a bangle and the second to last clasp is too tight. McD watches usually fit me perfect.

I hard core want what looks like a choker, but BK was out of the toys (or they just didn't want to take the time to understand what I was asking) when last I went.

Anyone know what the Skullette one is? I'm guessing it's a terrible mirror or a compact holding barrettes. Wishing it was a stamp set.
