Off Topic / Help identifying old toy?
« on: August 26, 2016, 04:10:45 AM »
Hi, I'm up very late tonight because I feel like I can't sleep until Ifigure out what my old toys from childhood are called. Really, I'm trying to find then again.
What I remember is that they were plastic cats with brushable tails and rotating heads, similar to Little Pretties. These, however, all came in the same pose - tall, skinny, and sitting on their haunches. Their heads were kind of similar to Catwalk Kitties. Each one came with a little ribbon collar with a tag that had the initials of the brand name. The two I had were green with a pink tail, and purple with a pink tail.
Any ideas? I bought them in the early, mid-2000s.

Off Topic / Disney Doll ID
« on: June 22, 2016, 02:27:08 AM »
So I've had this Ariel doll for a while that I, nor Gooogle, can seem to find. (Excuse the crappy cell pic)

She has glittery eyeshadow and nude lips. Her body reads 2005. It's really the dress that's stumping me - it matches her movie dress almost to a T, and it has a "Disney Store Exlusive" tag. Any ideas?

I also have this Barbie Petalk Pixie lookalike I got around the same time Mermaidia came out. She came with a bubble tray and bubble solution, and her wings double as the wand. I've found similar Barbie dolls released around that time but none that match her. Any idea on her either?

Thank you!

Sightings / DOLLAR TREE: Finds and Sales
« on: January 04, 2016, 05:04:36 PM »
So I know Dollar Tree normally has an assortment of merchandise (puzzles, art, etc.) but today I managed to find the Inner Monster accessory packs. There were two Scared Silly, and maybe four to five Spooky Sweet and Fearfully Fiesty. I bought one of each and I guess I should actually looks into buying the dolls.
Tl;dr: for any Inner Monster lovers, the accessory packs have been spotted at Dollar Tree.

Ever After High Discussion / Doll Shelf Help
« on: November 20, 2015, 11:33:55 PM »
I recently bought a shelf intending to use it to display my EAH Wonderlanders - only to find that I had misjudged how tall it was by a couple of centimeters. I am still determined to use it, however, so does anyone have any ideas on how to conserve the space and/or convert it into a cute "Wonderland" scene? I will be uploading pics of the shelf ASAP. Thank you in advance for helping  :)

Off Topic / What Dolls are at Disney Parks?
« on: October 03, 2015, 10:47:04 PM »
Like the title says, I'm wondering what dolls are at Disney Parks (more specifically, Disneyland). I'm going this week, and my Dad's birthday is soon. Since we collect dolls together, and collecting signatures are a tradition for us, I wanted to get the face characters to sign a doll for him as a surprise. Which ones can I find in stores right now? Thank you!

Tonight, in one of my late night summer-fueled baking binges I decided to make some butterscotch krimpets, and Rochelle said she wanted to help!

First she helped stir all the sugars and eggs together.

All done! Both of us can't wait to taste the batter.

Next, the flour! Uh-oh, the bag is kind of tall...

Oh no!

Phew! Rochelle could almost pass for Spectra now.

Now to melt the butter and heat up the milk.

She likes to watch the mug spin around the microwave... it can make her dizzy after a while though.

The batter is done!

And now the batter is Rochelle-approved.

Just one last taste...

Preheating the oven...

Ding! Time to put the krimpets in.

~Intermission~

Butterscotch chips for the icing! Rochelle is terribly fond of them.

And now they're spinning around... and around... around...

Yay! Time to stir more stuff.

Frosting is done!

Once more, the frosting is Rochelle-approved. Yummy!

The cakes are done and cooled. Rochelle is frosting them.

Ta-da!! The cake are done, and Rochelle couldn't be happier.

Thank you for joining us on Home Ick. Next week we'll be baking cookies with Spectra! Good night!

Monster Discussion / Worth It?
« on: June 12, 2015, 11:35:06 PM »
Hi, I'm not really up to date on MH doll prices, so I'm asking for advice. I occasionally see MH dolls at the thrift store near me, but their usually priced $5.99 for one, or $12.99 for two. With my student discount that's about $4.70 to $10.30. They range from partially to fully clothed, and are usually in pretty good condition. I've seen Toralei, Venus, Abbey, Ghoulia and Frankie recently. Would it be worth the price to pick them up?

Introductions! / Hi there
« on: June 12, 2015, 02:35:53 PM »
Hi! I'm new here, which should be obvious, but I'm glad to be here! I've been on the MLPArena for a few months now, and I've been trying to resist the doll itch... but ever since those $3.50 Black Friday dolls at Wal*Mart last year, I grew weak. I finally gave up. I'm a collector of MH, EAH, and Barbie. My favorite characters include Operetta, Spectra, Abbey, Frankie, Lagoona, C.A. Cupid, Maddie, and Cerise. I can't wait to collect even more!
