i will take tones of pictures my work has a canon camera and a light box they're going to let me use to take pictures of my dolls it was embarrassing to ask but they were really cool about it

How nice that you can borrow the equipment. I am looking forward to seeing your pictures.

That's great! :D I can't wait to see your photos

Lol, that's funny about people whispering. You could always tell them it's part of your rehabilitation from the psychiatric hospital. Art therapy, ya know. I like the invitation to take pics too idea! Good one, neon_jellyfish.

Maybe it's living in a big city, but I rarely get noticed taking dolls AND my LIV ponies to places for pics. I've put them on the window counter of the Starbucks in the State Street Macy's store and snapped pics of them with passersby out on the sidewalk. It's been awhile, if I can find some I'll post 1 or 2.

Dang! You're braver than I am!

I think you're doing great so far! :D Let me tell ya, I was so nervous at first too! Like super nervous about it. Keep going and that nervousness will melt away. :) Also, it's really not that bad sanding down a Pullip face plate. I've done it twice now cause I'm so picky. XD

Did you grab pastels to work with next? I think you'll like using shaved pastels a lot! It's like layering makeup. :)

I want a Smart Doll so badly! I'm coming to terms with this. I may halt all other doll buys to save for one

Customs / Re: Curious: Why watercolor pencils?
« on: February 03, 2017, 04:20:06 PM »
So normal artist grade colored pencils have either a wax or oil base binder. Both of these don't work well with dolls for various reasons. Watercolor pencils are used since they don't have oil or wax and the pigments are much more vibrant.

Monster Discussion / Re: How do you justify your collection?
« on: February 01, 2017, 10:30:23 AM »
I feel this way sometimes until I remember that: I'm a responsible adult, my bills are paid, my food is purchased, my retirement is invested into, donations have been made, my emergency fund is full so therefore I can buy a doll or two. Even if you can't check everything off that list it's okay to invest some of your fiances into a hobby that makes you happy. That's just practicing some self care. If you still feel guilty make a budget and see what you can set aside for a doll allowance. :)

"It's mine and I like them."

^ And also this! <3
