Monster Discussion / Re: What's the last MH thing you bought? 3
« on: August 13, 2018, 05:23:29 PM »
I saw the De Nile baby with the chair and Cleo's little sister at Tuesday Morning today for $5.  Now I just need Cleo's little brother.  They had the set with Frankie, her little sister, and the grill for $10, and I picked that up too.

Has anyone seen the Hoodie girls anywhere?  I haven't seen them IRL or online.

They were not released.

The first competent MH dolls in a year and a half and...they're not released :(

I know, right?!  :annoyed:

Wanted / Re: Wanted: Made To Move AA Barbie

I know a Walmart that has them (if it's the AA MTM Camping Barbie)!  And they're on sale (I just picked up one today!)  And I don't mind deboxing them.  If you have a Target near you, I'd be interested in doing a trade for the new Retro My Little Ponies.

Off Topic / Re: Toys R Us Stores Closing
« on: March 09, 2018, 02:49:50 PM »
I just saw this today.  TRU may be closing all its stores in the US.  This article also talks about how this is bad news for Hasbro and Mattel (and other toy companies).  Monster High is already struggling and this could make it worse.

The TRU where I live is the only place that has any sort of selection of Monster High left.  We don't have a Target and Walmart's MH section is almost gone.

So, was there no MH stuff at Toy Fair at all??  I've been through a ton of pictures and haven't seen anything.

Anyone seen any pictures of the MH stuff yet?

Ooh, I like what they did with Bunny's hair!   Love all the accessories.  Disappointed about the lack of articulation but I'm just so happy to see the line isn't dead that I can live with it.  I'll definitely be getting Bunny and probably Apple.

I might get the Cleo doll.  I like the accessories she comes with.  The minis with pets are cute but I don't collect the minis.  The only other thing I want is Clawdeen's shoes, but unless I can find her cheap on clearance I'll have to pass.  I'm not a fan at all of painted-on clothes. :/

The only place I've seen the Garden Ghouls at is Target.  Neither Walmart or TRU here have them.

Ooh, I definitely want to sign up for this!  I'm too poor right now to do the doll swap but this I can afford. XD

Everything everyone has said.  This was about my favorite doll line ever, even rivaling Monster High.  Great dolls, great animation, great characters.

Sales / Re: Testing the waters... Doll craft subscription box

Thank you all SO much for the input!

I'm also wondering, would you prefer a box that's more focused on sewing or on making furniture and accessories for dolls?  Or a mix of the two?

A good idea to add is some patterns for clothing :) maybe 1-2 per box? If you would like I could help you with that :)

A custom pattern is a good idea; thanks!

I want Frankie's boots and the little container with the slime monster.  Not really worth buying the set just for that though.

Thank you all very much for the feedback! ^_^  After thinking about it some more, I may start off making some kits to go in my Etsy shop and see how that goes first and if they do well, start a subscription.

While I honestly really love this idea (it's like Darby Smart but more specific), I will be honest and say I probably wouldn't subscribe for one reason only: I am such a hoarder already when it comes to craft projects. I am always buying way more fabric, paint, etc. than I need leaving me with basically an entire room in my house of unstarted or at the least unfinished craft projects... Like, I think I have all of the fabric swatches in your mockup besides the spider web one, lol. Now if you wanted a collaborator so I could get RID of some of my extra fabric, I would be totally down for that, lol.

Lol, I completely understand.  My fabric collection runneth over too. XD

Sales / Testing the waters... Doll craft subscription box

I had this idea of starting a subscription box service for doll collectors who like to make things for their dolls (combines two of my favorite things, dolls and crafts!)  I was wondering if this was something that anyone would be interested in?  It could have stuff for sewing, making furniture and accessories, etc.  I was thinking of starting out with a limited number of spots for the first box, and if it works out, release a box every 2 or 3 months.  And there'd be two options, for a cheaper box and a more expensive one.  I put together a collage of items that might be in a box.  https://www.flickr.com/photos/95214744@N04/36433684724/in/dateposted-public/

I'm still hashing out the idea.  Any input is very much appreciated.  :)
