I wonder if the furry body parts are from G2 Clawdeen, didn't she have molded fur in G2? I'm not very familiar with that.

the heads are Frets and Fawntine's; the blue head looks like a Frightmare head too, but I don't recognize it...

Clawdeen only had fur at her wrists, she didnt have on her upper arms like these ones do... From what I can tell from the photos, these bodies are 100% new and original.

I dont think they are monster high dolls... they are all mice... Could it be a totally new doll line?

I was wondering, is it possible to head swap a Disney store prince head to a made to move ken? Have anybody tried?
I wanted to make a merman Prince Eric doll but the DS dolls lack joints and muscle...

What you can do to try to solve the issue is to use a bit of paper tissue and put it into the socket with the arm. I dunno if it will work for you but its worth a try.

G2 certainly didnt help MH... I did actually like the new bodies and the new faces (some fit certain characters more than others), but I think it was the cheaper clothing and molded tops and legs that killed the toys, and  the new storyline that erased all other characters exept a few was atrocious...  I can understand that sometimes you need to reboot things but when you do, you should atleast respect the original fan base, which they didnt in this case, they thought they could just get a whole new audience with aiming for little kids, which I dont think work when it come to monsters...Well it can work with animal type of monsters but not decaying zombies that do some sort of rap music... I think that in MHs case, it would have made more sense to make a totally new monster school in the same world, that way you can focus on a new group of monsters with new things and personalities while having a cross over now and then. Fresh reboots like that tend to work better.

That is so disappointing to hear... I really wanted to get those movies on dvds. I cant use streaming services so this just push me to go the pirate route...

I meant to refer to Bows voice actor, he might not have straight out insulted it but i couldnt find a better word. Oh the limits of language when you are not a native speaker...
I understand the language barrier possibly being an issue, But Noelle has stated that she wishes she had been alive to have originally watched the series when she was a kid and has indeed seen some episodes from what she has said. So I'm sorry to say but I don't think you're being very fair to her. She has stated that if they recreated the original and kept everything the same there would be no point (just watch the original if that's what you want to see)...

I'm not trying to insult you or others or anything, and you're free to your opinion to dislike the show, but lets be fair to the creators and not assign things like a disregard for the show without unfounded evidence :)

Yes, there is not much of a point if most of the show stays the same, but to me it seems she is moreso trying to do her own thing and push her own ideology than to recreate a beloved show. And as far as I understood, she didnt see any episodes till after the reboot was at least nearing completion.  That is something that strikes me as odd, I myself would want to watch through as much content I could to see where it wanted to go, where it didnt want to go, get a feel for the characters and their dynamics. That research is such important work to see what can be changed in order to make a good retelling. Ducktales did this, and they improved things that were a bit plain, but they didnt totaly substitute what came before it. My Little Pony did this too.

She isnt even reigning in Bows VA when he start speaking ill of the original, nor does she vocalize disagreement which suggests to me that she do agree with him. So I do not take much stock in what she say about wishing she could been alive at She-Ras original runtime... She could have taken time to sit down and watch She-ra at any time long before this anyway. So I sense dishonesty there.
I have also seen some of Noelles tweets from before the She-ra show and they arent exactly flattering.
So I do believe I am being fair to her.

And dont worry I know you arent trying to insult me. We all have different perspectives and this is just how I interpret things.

I have to say Catty Noir. I adore black cats and pink. She is also so very sweet, and yet she still can stand up for herself.

I'm actually a hardcore She-Ra fan and am really looking forward to it! I have issues with a few of the redesigns and a voice here or there, but Overall I am VERY excited...

I cant even recognize the characters because they are racebent so much. Even Ducktales knew to keep things recognizable.
But what can ya expect when the creators are insulting the original show in public on comicon?
Where did she insult the show? I know Bow's voice actor wasn't overly kind to the original, but I didn't see Noelle or any otehr creators saying anything insulting and I watched the panel on youtube...

The DuckTales crew is all huge, huge fans of the original. So I guess this is the difference between a fan-run production and one that is not?

Yea thats the way it seems. The reboot crew of Ducktales talked a lot about being fans of the original show and the comics while Noelle admitted she hadnt even tried to watch the original.
Im very much questioning her professionality and legitimacy. If I had been put in charge of something that I hadnt seen before, I would have taken the time to research it and watch any material in order to do an reboot that could be respectful to the original. I might even turn down the project if it had been something I really didnt like...I wouldnt go and turn it inside out till it was unrecognizable!

Official full trailer is out:

Aaaaaaaaand I'm out. lol
I was cautiously optimistic when the first stills were released, but this trailer completely lost me.  It looks too far removed from the original series, tonally all over the place, and just generally unappealing.

That's pretty sweet, good job..  Just have to ask, "I also added a hairband with cat ears from Catty Noir that I made a long time ago."  You cut Catty's ears off to make the headband? lol

Technically I cut of Cattys ears in order to make Patch Samhein, my daughter of the Pumpking king oc, but I didnt want to throw the ears away. I had a headband from a Spectra so I used it and stuck the ears on there. I was originally thinking that I could use the ear headband to make a Getting fairest Kitty Cheshire but I have still not gotten around to that so I used it for Black Cat instead.

Beautiful! Nice work! And thanks for the rundown on what you did!

You said you'd already redesigned you have artwork you based your custom on? Would you post it here, pretty please?!

In Sweden, might you have better luck with faux fur salvaged from human garments, like a parka or gloves?

Thank you. Yes, I do have art of it.

It's maybe not the best ref and it differs quite a bit but yea this is what it is based on.

Technically yes, it would be easier to find faux fur from old garments, but the problem is that they arent made for dolls so the fur is often rather heavy and rough. Pretty much the same issues as I counted up earlier.

Thanks guys!
I love how she came out too. Although... I wish I could do her fur better, those pieces are very shoddy since I cant find any good fur fabric here in sweden... the only fur I find is too long, wrong color and extremely expensive...its extremely hard to find fabric for dolls at all... :(

I have always been a huge fan of Black Cat from Marvel. I get entranced by cat characters so easily XD
I really wanted a doll of her, but even though Marvel launched the doll line Marvel Rising, I dont expect them to make any doll of Black Cat for various reasons. So what was my only option? To make my own Black Cat custom! I had redesigned Black Cat since earlier to make her look a tad more modern so I decided to base the design on it. I used a DCHG Batgirl as a bait and reused her pants and mask, repainted her belt and shoes. I had to sew my own shirt for it...Im still not used to making my own doll clothes so its a bit shoddily made... I also added a hairband with cat ears from Catty Noir that I made a long time ago. The fur stole was from an Apple White and the rest of the fur was taken from an old stuffed horse. I had a small bell since earlier so I added it to a ribbon to use for the necklace. And then I finished it of with some rhinestones and a few fake pearl necklaces for her to "steal".

You art is stunning, Sakuya! That GwenPool pic is so joyful and clever, and the Art Nouveau Batgirl is gorgeous! You won that contest fair and square!

Well I wasnt the only one to win, the contest had a few "pitstops". One part was on the friday afternoon, one on the saturday morning (which I entered), one on saturday afternoon and same on the sunday. All in all I think he probably should have talked to about 24-30 persons. I dont know if it was a lot of people who tried out or not But yea, still to be chosen of just those numbers is big.
And he talked about testing me! It might not lead to a job, its hard for them to hire people overseas...but maybe I could get to do something for them, or get some sort of contact.

Oh, I forgot to post the folder I customized. I hoped it would be eyecatching and help me get the meeting, and it sure was a success!

There was a comicon this weekend in Stockholm and they held a sort of contest where C.B. Cebulski, the boss of marvel, would look at your portfolios and choose a few people to talk to. I was one of the chosen people to get a private meeting with him! I am so over the moon about being praised by him. Some people in the shoutbox wished to see the art of the portfolio that I made so I decided to post them here.
