Ever After High Discussion / Re: Do La Dee Da clothes fit?

I saw an amazing photoset of Ghoulia in a Ladeeda swimsuit a while ago!

Love those clothes and I am so angry they were never released in my country. I'd love to get my hands on some of those fashion packs!

Oh boy, I'm really jealous! You all live in really cool and interesting places!

I was born in the US, but for most of my life I lived around a small German town called Idar-Oberstein. Our stretch of land is unique in that there is a large amount of minerals and gemstones in our mountains (for central Europe at least), and Idar-Oberstein is famous for its jewelry. Of course, nowadays not many people can actually afford real jewelry, so business has been stagnating quite a bit. Even so, it's kind of nice to have these beautiful things associated with your hometown.

^This is a nice view of the new castle (still called "new", despite having been built in the 14th century LOL) and our most famous sight, the chapel in the rocks. Legend has it that two brothers used to live in the new castle, who loved each other very much, until the day when they fell in love with the same woman. They fought each other bitterly for her, until one shoved his brother off the top of the mountain in a fit of rage. Overcome by grief, he prayed for forgiveness and a preacher told him the only way to make this right again was to build a church at the exact point where they had found his brother's dead body. He invested all his money in the building of this church and worked with the builders (despite being a nobleman). As the last brick was set down, he collapsed with exhaustion and died with a smile on his face, knowing he'd been forgiven.
It's not true of course, but a nice story nonetheless.

^Our museum exhibits the beauty of natural mineral formations...

^...and the art they can be made into.
This is one thing I love and wish it was still as grand as it used to be 50 years ago. Back then, Idar-Oberstein was a synonym for high quality and luxurious jewelry and art, and through my grandparents I still feel connected to that. My grandmother was a secretary for one of the many jewelry and mineral dealers and I still have a lot of her jewelry, each piece more beautiful than the last. But my favorite is the ring she wore every day until she died: white gold with four faceted diamonds, designed and made for her alone by my grandfather, who was a diamond cutter.

My 'second home' is the city where I study: Trier
Trier is the oldest city in Germany and there are many Roman buildings to be found. Most of them are ruins, of course, but many of them are still as strong as they were 2,000 years ago.

^One of them is the Porta Nigra ('black gate'), which marks the walls that protected the citizens. Nowadays, people can climb the steps and tour it (tour guides wear Roman clothing) and find out exciting and gruesome things. For example, if the city was under siege, the first gate would be opened to lure attackers inside, then closed up again to trap them, while the defending soldiers dumped boiling hot tar or oil on them from above. Yeesh!

^As Germany's oldest city, Trier has a lot of non-Roman sights, too. I especially like the fancy townhouses that are still inhabitable, built from the middle ages (the white one with the high black roof, built in 1430) to the beginning of the 20th century (the brown one next to it). The people who built them are long gone, but it's cool that through the centuries, people have always taken such good care of the buildings.

So, this is where I live and study. It's not much (American soldiers hate being stationed here LOL), but it's home!

Monster Discussion / Re: 13 Wishes Abbey

I like her,I just don't like that lip color on Abbey at all.
And for the people talking about they would rather have a HTC Cleo and Ghoulia,Well I'm sure they will post the preview photos of them soon,They were in the trailer in HTC outfits so I'm pretty sure they will make them into dolls.

I'd love that, but I don't think there will be a second 13 Wishes Cleo in addition to the oasis playset :(
BUT: maybe her outfit as a fashion pack? That would be cool!

My least favorite characters are Jackson and Holt. Two sides of the same coin, and both are incredibly annoying!
I plan on getting at least one doll of each character, but I'll skip out on these.
Gil is also not a favorite, as I'm very unhappy with the things he's putting Lagoona through. Yes, they are his parents and he's only a teen, but I just feel he's very passive about Lagoona's emotional pain.

Speaking of her, I LOVE Lagoona, but the dolls...
They don't look like her at all and it took me a long time to get warmed up to them. I remember thinking "I don't care for Lagoona dolls" while staring at the four Lagoonas on my shelf. LOL

I'm a little irked by the new faces, though! Venus's eyes keep getting larger, Frankie's eyes are moving closer together and Mad Science Cleo's face looks very different from her previous releases. I guess I'll get used to it, but at the moment, I'm not sure whether I want her.

I caved in and bought my first boy, a Scaris Deuce, last week. Since I don't have any boy stands, he's hugging Scaris Cleo right now :D
That's the only official couple you can find on my shelf, even if it's not really my favorite pairing (still cute though). Once I get Heath and Abbey, they will be put together, as I LOVE that couple very much! If I had a Clawd (a girl can dream), I'd arrange him with Lala too. I guess I like all official couples save for Frankie and Jackson/Holt.

I have to admit I think Robecca and Venus are very cute together, so I pose them together frequently.

WOW, she's great! I love the curls and shoes especially!

But I have to agree with the opinion that there's a little too mcuh Abbey going on. Even though she's my favorite character! As pretty as the dolls are, it would be really cool if we could skip out on Abbey one or two times in the future for the sake of another Jinafire or Seklita for example. It does look like Spectra is getting more popular, so maybe she'll overtake Abbey, heehee.

I'm going to the States in September, so hopefully by then the run will have ended and I'll have a chance to find one. I have so many other dolls I want to buy there, though (since they're much cheaper), so I'm not quite sure how I'll fit everything into my suitcase LOL

Cool! I have to say I really dislike Twyla's straight bangs, and I'll try curling them just a little bit when I've bought her. Did you have any trouble washing her hair?
I haven't done very much to my dolls (SS Abbey has a boil perm and the werecat twins got their nails painted) because I'm scared I'll ruin them. I've dressed them in lots of other outfits though, especially my old Barbie clothes (which are mostly incredibly ridiculuos 90s fashion LOL).

Yes, I am.

I hate myself for it, but I'm weak. I was bullied growing up and I guess no matter how much I claim that I'm over it, I still catch myself trying to hide "uncool" things I enjoy sometimes. What I hate most about it is that my stepsister (17) and my halfsister (11) know about it and I get embarassed when the older one makes fun of me, while the little one genuinely thinks I'm cool for enjoying the things she likes too. It's been like that with MLP and animated movies, and every time I despise myself more for not telling her I don't care if she thinks I'm embarrassing. I want to show my baby sister that you don't have to stop enjoying something just because of your age.

None of the people who know are very supportive of my hobby, save for my aunt in FL. My mom grudgingly tolerates it, although it's not the dolls bothering her (she used to collect Barbies) but the horrendous amount of money I spend on them. I can understand that. My friends think it's funny or annoying (depends on how much I talk about dolls, so I mostly keep the dolltalk to myself).

I joined a group on Facebook a short while ago because I really need a community to share my hobby with and while I didn't post much, I still liked it. But I realized the group wasn't private when one of my uncles saw a photo I posted in the group, meaning that probably everybody on my Facebook saw it. With some of them I truly don't care if they know, but I have a lot of problems at one of my jobs and I'm terrified my boss will see this as a new reason to  bully me.

When I related how embarassed I was that so many people must have seen it (who I didn't want to find out), another member said something along the lines of "If you're ashamed of your hobby you have problems".  I know I do. I've mostly kept out of the group since, but one member directed me to this forum, so maybe I can learn to not give a damn about haters with its help.

Can you tell me the best place to show my stuff? I'm guessing Clawdeen's Closet is best for the clothes, but where can I post pics of the furniture withuot it being off-topic?

Abbey is my favorite, too. I have DT, SS, GR, PD and Scaris Abbey so far, and I'm debating on whether to get every release. I really want DDG Abbey, but you can't get her in my country and of course, the Home Ick 2-pack!
I hope we get to see better pics of 13 Wishes Abbey soon!

Hi everyone!

I'm not quite sure what to write, since I'm a pretty unspectacular person, but here goes:
I'm 25 and attending university to become a teacher fo English and German. As a military brat, I've moved back and forth between the States and Germany and both cultures have gotten mixed up a lot, so please let me apologize in advance for any language mistakes, haha.
I've been interested in MH for a while after seeing the dolls on tumblr, but only after my younger sister got some dolls for this past christmas did I really want to own one. It's very hard to find MH where I live (very rural), so I was superlucky to find Cupid as my first doll (even though I didn't know anything about dollhunting at that point and just picked her because she was cute and cheap).

Despite MH being terribly expensive over here (13 Wishes Haunt the Casbah dolls are almost 50$ each), I've come to quite a collection in these past 6 months, my latest purchases being Scaris Frankie and Scaris Deuce (first boy!), who are #50 and #51, respectively. As a means of cutting down my spending habits, I've taken up sewing MH clothes and crafting MH furniture. It's a lot of fun, but I'd be really happy to get some tips on how to improve from you!

Thank you for reading!
