They reused the fabric from Fangtastic Fitness for Lagoona's outfit. (sorry if someone already mentioned this, it's a long thread!)
Huh, they sure did
. Usually I'm really good at noticing reused fabrics. Still a really cute swimsuit.

and does Kelpie have a fabric top? I thought it was molded at first
I thought so too but I looked a little closer and you're right! It's all fabric! Good eye.

I don't know why I just thought of this but Clawdia, Clawdeen, Howleen, and Pawla could totally be monster stand-ins for Barbie, Skipper, Stacie, and Chelsea : P. How fun

Moanica is actually really interesting because she shares Ghoulia's worm/ribcage/brain motifs but then there's the inclusion of bleach splatter and radioactive green, which makes me think she came from a virus or a bite. Her mini even has biohazard symbols as her eyeshines. I like to think there are two or three different kinds of zombies in the MH universe:
- Zombies made through supernatural means like a curse or a spell (classic zombies or "first generation zombies")
- Zombies created through man-made means like a virus or a parasite (modern zombies)
- Zombies that are born from other zombies bc this a fantasy universe idk
In my head, the zomboys are #1, Moanica is #2, and Ghoulia is #3.
I actually have a lot of ideas for where Moanica came from and why she hates humans. Maybe she's the lone survivor of a experiment gone awry that her human creators only covered up instead of taking responsibility for. Maybe she was just a normal girl who got infected by chance and had no support system. Maybe she lost someone she cared about to the humans. Maybe she's just mean
I really hope we get to see what she's made of eventually.

Found all three at Target today but instead of 14.99 they were 15.39 O.o

I'm of two minds about it. On one hand Rapunzel is my favorite Disney Princess so of course I'm happy to see her get not only another movie but a TV Show of all things. I'm super excited to see her and Eugene's relationship dynamic spread out over a larger span of time and I really like Cassandra's design but the fact that her hair ~magically~ grows back to it's movie length and color is such a copout to me.
We already know the end of the entire show: Rapunzel's hair get cut off (again apparently) and she and Eugene get married. I want to see the stuff in between that but pushing her back into the status quo only intensifies my soreness over how Disney abjectly refuses to let her character move on from being blonde and marketable where merchandise is concerned. Rapunzel's hair was integral to her misery in captivity and I just think it's dumb that she nearly always has it except when they're expressly acknowledging Tangled Ever After or in the little kiddie books.

Even closer pics of the Garden Ghouls:https://www.instagram.com/p/BQzFHQchxTB/https://www.instagram.com/p/BQzFFrNh0J8/https://www.instagram.com/p/BQzFEOMB8zb/
-I am very curious about how their wings are attached. They aren't wearing necklaces like cupid and they don't seem to have huge harnesses like the inner monsters.
-Cleo has purple and pink eyeshadow. Neat.
-Toralei seems to have one clawed hand and one normal hand so we'll probably have to wait until stock pics come in to see whether her claws are intact. I think she wins best dress.
-One of Twyla's hands looks kind of messed up the way Venus's are but the rest of her limbs look fine so I'm assuming that hand just got pulled out by accident

, relevant stuff starts at 2:35. Not the hugest fan of MommyandGracie but this vid has some pretty interesting insight on the whole Monster Family deal from the Mattel associate. The quality drops severely after they get done with enchantimals though. She also gets a look at some megaconstrux stuff, I think we have a ferris wheel in the pipeline.

. A short video showing the Garden Ghouls up close.
-It looks like Toralei only has part of her hair crimped and the rest is straight.
-Not a huge fan of the ruffles, I can see they're going for a shakespearean vibe but it isn't quite working.
-Poor Cleo kind of has Ghouls Spirit Frankie Syndrome: her eyeshadow is that weird conjunctivitis tone.
-Am I seeing things or has Toralei lost her claws?

I agree it would've been cool if they'd put her on a Marisol body to be the ultimate yeti girl, but I like her just fine regardless. Every time I look at her I think about The Flintstones though.

I like the Garden Ghouls well enough. Not enough to buy any of them at this point in time but I agree Cleo is the most put together. Needs accessories though. I like the return of that turquoise hair on Toralei and I like her kitty nose but eeehhhh long haired Toraleis aren't my fave. Twyla looks fine. I kind of like the pixies/fairies/whatevers, especially the dragon fly one.
Somebody on the design team is really really
excited for the 80s to make a comeback. They want the 80s to be in vogue more than life itself.
I'm on the fence about Dracula. Parent dolls are neat but they aren't a HUGE WANT for me, I mostly just want to see
the parents and I'm satisfied. Being wide release rather than SDCC tilts the scales in his favor though, the exclusivity is what made me pass on Hexiciah and Robecca. I wonder if he's on the new body or the old body? Draculaura looks cute as always.
I think the monster family siblings are alright. Not sure what they mean in the grander scale of canon but Pawla's darker green accents are a nice change of pace and if I end up getting the Draculaura/Dracula set I might as well get the whole family together. Not really feeling Ebbie though. I also like that Kelpie's hair can feed my headcanon that those curls Lagoona had near the end of G1 (monster exchange and Wheel Love particularly) are her natural hair grade
. The school bus is fun.

Treesa definitely looks better than her prototype, but she needs a new outfit. If she got new clothes, I think she'd seem a lot more magical.
I'm very curious about what people are going to do with Treesa outfit-wise, especially because of that huge knob on her back like the 2-n-1 Ashlynn.

All I'm seeing is the cupped hand that doesn't seem to be fitted tightly into the joint...is Venus' condition spreading?
We'll have to see. Electrified Twyla has the same hands and hers are removable.

Doesn't it look like she has some sort of shadow design in her arm? Like the legs on freak du chic? Or am I crazy?
Nope, it definitely reminds me of her Freak du Chic shadows. I don't why they're messing with Twyla specifically so much.

. Up close pics of today's reveals
-I didn't catch that the Draculaura that comes with the playset is unique. She's wearing suspenders and pants. Cute
-The toilet is honestly hilarious
-I don't think we're ever going to get a Deuce mini with straight glasses
-I already mentioned Venus's ears but Clawd's mini still has his fab eyelashes too. I hope the former gets fixed at least.
-The frankie mini with the poofy hair looks like she's flocked
! Maybe there's some sort of 'weather ghouls' line in wave 3?
-Collector Abbey is incredible up close tbh. I'm really falling for her.
« on: February 19, 2017, 03:03:03 PM »
Collectors stuff meaning Abbey and minis? Or were there other things shown I'm not aware of?
Nah it was just Abbey and the minis for collector's items. You didn't miss anything unless they pull a 2nd surprise. Stitch Kingdom said that today was Mattel's collector specific event and tomorrow is their regular one, most of what I want to see isn't collector's stuff so I'm excited.

With the fact that her pet is a woolly mammoth I think they are going for a cavegirl thing with her and not some indigenous kind of thing.
A solid point. I rescind my previous statement. Viewing it as cave girl chic makes me wish she had a club accessory though
On another note: I'm a lot more excited for the playline stuff tomorrow that I was for the collector's stuff today. Can't wait for up close pics of the Monster Family Stuff. I wonder what kind of surprise we'll get from that end.

I think I love her too. I love her crimped hair, I love the gathered fabric on her dress, I love the fur on her boots, and I love her face-up. She might be the first collectors doll I end up getting.
I feel like I'm the only one who loves collector Abbey
I like her too more for us lol
But does anyone know how much she'll cost?
She'll probably be $30 like Skelita was.

I feel like I'm the only one who loves collector Abbey
My criticisms might have given off the impression that I don't like her but I do actually! Time will tell if I'll actually buy her but she does have a certain pull about her.
