Thank you all!!  *group hug!* My mama came into town and we had a little mini vacation with lots of horror movies and a trip to the haunted house (and IKEA, for more bookshelves for my endlessly growing collections, haha!).

Off Topic / Re: The Gaming Thread!
« on: September 11, 2015, 01:59:15 PM »
I haven't popped into this thread yet because I'm SO boring lately with my gaming--all I play these days is WoW XD I find doing garrison stuff and cruising through LFR in WoD really fun, though, so hey, may as well admit it, I'm all in :P Who else is looking forward to patch 6.2? I main a warlock Horde-side (hunter Ally-side), and Hellfire Citadel has got me super excited because of all the demonic/fel stuff. ^.^

I got back into WoW at the beginning of the year for that beautiful corehound! It had been a dream of mine to ride a corehound. :wow: I hadn't played since Cata so it was a wild struggle to get my baby (I'm a warlock too! <3) up to speed in time but I did it! I really love the quests in Pandaria and the Garrison stuff in Draenor. I still haven't really gotten into playing with other people though, so I don't looove LFR, but I'm glad it's there because there is basically no way I will ever do progression style raid content again, and I'd still like to see the story and maybe do the legendary quests.

I haven't been playing much lately though because I was already really struggling with how gutted (GUTTED) the warlock class feels to me, and when I read the 6.2 patch notes "25% damage reduction to 'locks across the board!" I just went "...No. I will NOT." I have been playing the same warlock since Vanilla, reeeally hardcore until about mid-Cata, and no matter what kind of shape my class was in when it came to the dps meter or whatever I didn't care, because playing as a warlock just gave me joy. The whole play-style. At some point between then and when I came back in Draenor they actually managed to strip that out. So it no longer feels good to play as ANY of our specs (I settled on the "least painful" choice of Demonology, rather than the "most fun", as none of them even approach fun now), and I ALREADY felt like I hit like a wet noodle besides, I just could not tolerate the thought of being even weaker. Nooo.

I promised a photo for those who play borderlands of my Mad Moxxi project.

All done!-  (Except her custom storage box)

Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

Happy gaming everyone!

She's so beautiful! I love the sense of humor of the Borderlands games, but I'm not coordinated enough to play games where you have to shoot things with precision (another reason I thank Cthulhu every day for the beauty that is V.A.T.S.!). For this reason I'm excited to eventually play the Tell-Tale Borderlands game!

Has anyone been taking advantage of Steam's Monster Summer Sale?

We have been loading up on games.  We've purchased Alice: Madness Returns; Alien: Isolation; Arkham Asylum, City, and Origins; Morrowind and Skyrim; Injustice; LEGO Batman 3; LEGO Marvel; and Tomb Raider: Underworld.  And we've only spent about $60.  And I'm seriously considering picking up the Portal bundle before the sale ends.

Yes! I got:
The Charnel House
I Have No Mouth, But I Must Scream
Life Is Strange
and the Longest Journey

Are you me??? Ahaha. I definitely picked up Charnel House and I Have No Mouth in the same sale, and I would have picked up TLJ if I hadn't already had it; while Life is Strange is near the top of my wishlist! I would have bought it too but it wasn't on a super sale so I decided to wait until they either finish all the episodes or a really good sale comes along. I will have it though! Point and click adventure is my life. Just bought Dear Esther from Humble. I know, I am always behind.

Congrats on your girl! She's lovely. I really like her facepaint!

Here's a snap of my precious Maggie. She's my baby. :inlove:

I love all the photos of everyone's friends! Duckbert looks very handsome. The rocker kitties are amazing (I am a little concerned that some of my babies will get jealous if they see those awesome custom looks), and Rochelle is definitely rocking that manicure.

I think of some of my plushies as my "plush family" and I am deeply attached to them. I could give up almost all of my dolls if I absolutely had to but I could never ever part with all my stuffed animals. My main man is Asher, my stuffed panther, who I basically treat as if he were alive (he totally is). Here he is helping me pack:

Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

I really think if my home were on fire the first things I would grab are Asher, Sabbath, and Quandary (the latter two are my favorite ragdoll kitties. That's actually art of Quandary in my user icon - she has two perfect heads <3).

I always take one of my plushies with me when I travel, not always the same one, based on various factors such as size constraints (Asher is bigger than some pillows) and potential danger (I didn't take Quandary on vacation across the country because if she became lost somehow in transit I would be beside myself). I also like to take one to soothe me when I'm going into stressful situations - my favorite plush Cthulhu accompanied me to many, many tests in college, and you have no idea how much I have wanted to bring him to job interviews.

Growing up my absolute favorite was a blanket I named, creatively, "Blankie". Blankie used to feature pictures on its many squares, a lace border my Mom had custom sewn on for me, and was stuffed, but has been through so much with me that now Blankie is basically a threadbare solid grey and lacks both lace and stuffing. These preservation concerns are the only reason I do not continue to sleep with Blankie to this day (I'm 26).

Off Topic / Re: Disney's Attractionistas?
« on: August 24, 2015, 09:22:26 PM »
I already received my Grace from the online Disney Store and I love her intensely. She is so beautiful! She has a lovely face sculpt, elegantly sculpted hands, and thick purple hair that's a perfect shade. She has a gorgeous outfit that is made of nice materials: the blue fabric actually feels velvety, the corset is leathery, there's real lace detail, and the skirt is printed with the Haunted Mansion pattern on the inside as well. Her little gloves actually have thumbholes. I love her teensy Victorian boots (having little feet is probably part of her big-headed chibi look) and fabulous top hat, and I'm pretty sure these purple and black Haunted Mansion tights are one of my favorite doll outfit pieces of all time. To top it off she even comes with a pet bat!

I wasn't sure about the price but all of the above plus how much bigger she is than a MH doll make her totally worth it to me. She's way nicer than, say, my Tonner Maudlynne Macabre, and they originally wanted like $60 for her.

I won't be picking up the other Attractionistas (what a terrible, terrible name) but I am totally thrilled with Grace and the fact that Disney finally released some Haunted Mansion merchandise I could actually afford! (I also picked up the plush Bride, I love that she's carrying an axe hidden in her bouquet!)

Really really hoping they do Tower of Terror as well, my much loved second favorite ride, but I'm not getting my hopes up, in part because I'm not sure what kind of doll look it could inspire.

I don't know how I feel about the vinyls branching out from Signature looks. (First Nefera, and now Sweet Screams? Though at least Rochelle and Twyla already have Signature vinyls! I haven't ordered Nefera yet specifically because it would feel wrong to me to only have her represented in my theoretical collection in her BYBY look...) But I would MUCH rather have new Sweet Screams dolls instead!!! It's such a wonderful line! I am completely against them making any vinyls that are NOT also represented in doll form. Bad bad bad. Fingers crossed that actual doll releases of these two are to follow.

I do think the vinyls are really adorable, but I've so far resisted the urge to collect them because they're not cheap and that money needs to go to dolls. (Mostly because being me if I bought one, I'd have to buy them all! Hopefully someday that will be feasible!)

I am BEYOND THRILLED that they're releasing a legitimately two-headed doll, though!!! THANK YOU MATTEL! They're gorgeous! Such a huge want of mine that I never thought I'd see in an actual official release! (I would also like a two-headed girl that is not a mermaid, but I'll take what I can get!)

Monster Discussion / Re: SDCC Exclusive
« on: July 11, 2015, 12:05:27 AM »
I really hope this new body style they developed for Whisp is going to be used for the GSR girls too.  I'm not sold on some of the tails and I'd like to have legs for some of the dolls, mainly the twins.

I know I'm grasping at straws here, but I just desperately want a way to make those twins less mermaid-y!

Ahhh, I am beyond excited about the twins already, but I would love them even MORE if I could give them legs, too!!!

So does anyone know where in the box Whisp's creepy disembodied legs hide?  :P

Probably like Manny's jacket, they're separate and being forgotten when people buy the doll.  :P

Perish the thought! :nope:

In related news, I just ordered Whisp, Valentine, and Raven on eBay! Pleasantly surprised that they were all cheaper than previous years exclusives, while still being just as cool and interesting in my opinion. I am already completely in love with Valentine (a version of him dressed up in all his finery has been one of my biggest MH wants for yeeears!), and I like Whisp a lot more thanks to that awesome genie tail.

Super cute! Your dollies and especially your birdies look so happy in their classy new space. ^.^ I actually have one of those birds from childhood too, I never knew what it was until I started hanging around the MLPA. XD (I think she's pink with greenish hair?)

Off Topic / Re: Funko POP's!
« on: February 19, 2015, 01:37:39 PM »
The Funko website mentioned The Addams Family Re-Action figs! Grrr, why Re-Action and not POPs... I'm usually not a fan of classic action figures that have only minimal motion and dead faces. But I will have to take what I can get.

I was pissed they did the same with Alien. Only make the new design abomination Alien as a POP and leave the classic characters for the Re-Action line. I would have loved to get an Ellen Ripley and original Alien POP, but no. Re-Action it was.

Ughhh, I'm with you Zapper, I really really don't like the Re-Action style figures. I don't have any nostalgia for this style so all they offer is horrible, basement-fakie-quality looking figures to me. I especially hate the hip joints and the way they split skirts into pants. I saw pictures of their new Fifth Element line and I'm just like, "...Whyyy." Now The Addams Family, too? *headdesk!*

I know someone must like this style, so they're just not meant for me, but grr! I really want beautiful Diamond Select-style figures of my beloved Addams, Plavalaguna, and Leeloo, but I would definitely rather have POP!s (especially of the Addams!) than Re-Action figures in the mean-time.

Ahhh! Everything is so amazing!!! :freak:

Gooliope doesn't look as much like Gigi as I feared, she's a much darker pink and has yellow and red hair, not to mention all the amazing goo details! Her joints look so nice, and that box is amazing!

Mousedes (sp) is precious, I love her furry arms and legs, those ears, that taiiiil! Not sure about her outfit.

Elle looks so lovely and sad <3 I think the black and blue in her hair helps distinguish her from Spectra.

Astra's sparkly eyesss! Also love her crystalline skin and crystal accessories. Really interested to see how her playset works.

Nefera, you flawless goddess! :wow: I also love love love everything about the Cleo and Deuce pack! I'm especially excited to see Deuce in a nice, detailed, pants-including outfit with his alternate (and much more attractive, imo) snake-style!!

I MUST have my baby Draculaura, and of course Gooliope since she's a new character. Can't predict how I will go after that. :drac:

"Yaaas, our fave Darling serves knightly realness in her ICONIC dragon slayer outfit from the webisodes!"
Yes, even an "Armor-Inspired Purse". Aren't we lucky? Hey, to be fair it says she can dress up in her Dragon Slayer Outfit. It doesnt say she'll be doing any actual dragon-slaying in it. Maybe that's their cop-out for the 'No-Sword" issue?

Petition for Mattel to create a full plate armor fashion pack specifically for Darling.

« on: February 06, 2015, 06:57:53 AM »
Ack, please be real! Ghoulia's hairstyle and dress and Mo's outfit are EVERYTHING! Of course, I think purple and black is the best color combo, plus, it's a somewhat dressy look (no shorts or t-shirts in sight!) with an awesome ribcage print?! Yesss! One of my favorite MH boy looks ever. XD I would prefer his shirt and jacket be two pieces, but I'll take what I can get. And I'm just so happy to see another Ghoulia! Definitely my favorite "date night" pack of MH and EAH so far, too!
