I've seen everything but Epic Winter, and I really enjoyed all of them. The EAH specials and webisodes were really well-done, imo.

Monster Discussion / Re: How has your monster collection evolved?
« on: May 02, 2017, 06:09:28 PM »
As far as MH dolls go, at first I said I was just going to buy a couple when I first started collecting in January 2012, but by the time this forum was created in June 2013, I had 112 dolls. I became a completionist and peaked at 280 dolls in April 2014. A few months later, though, I found myself becoming disenchanted with Monster High, and decided to stop collecting everything they came out with, and sold off a bunch of my dolls. Then I decided I was pretty much done in the summer of 2015, and purged most of what was left of it. I still own 40 dolls today, but only very rarely buy a Lagoona or a Toralei. I also bought collector's Draculaura and received Skelita as a gift, but that trend won't continue, because collector's Abbey looks hideous to me.

I pretty much fell out of love with MH as EAH became big, and switched to them as my priority. When EAH began to deteriorate last summer, though, I bought a Pullip on a whim, and was just completely enamoured with her. So my collecting again switched focus, and I am mainly a Pullip collector these days. I still have my whole EAH collection, and have no plans of selling them at the moment, but I probably won't be buying anymore, unless the line does a complete turnaround to what it once was.

I do also collect some Barbies, Descendants, Star Darlings, and other various doll brands, but they never really been my focus, and I just buy or receive them as gifts here or there.

I took a group photo of my MIO's today to celebrate my birthday, and of course no one wanted cooperate and stay sitting or standing. :lol: The wind outside definitely didn't help either.  ^^;

But finally, after much struggling, they all behaved for their mum, and I got to take this:

Thanks guys!! <3 :hug:

I took a picture of some of my dolls to celebrate the occasion, and man was it hard! No one wanted to stay sitting or standing, and the wind outside definitely wasn't helping the situation. :lol: XD

The outside photos are so pretty!
I really like how you style your MIOs, you have great sense for fashion!

Thank you! That means a lot to me to have you say that! :) <3

Excellent work and pics! Love the wig and outfit styling! And I really like how you did the lips...pretty and feminine and like she's been getting into the berry patch. And the 1970s turquoise blue eyeshadow! Yes!

Thank you! And yeah I thought the eyeshadow would be a nice bright surprise. ^.^

You pulled off the bolder make-up fantastically! Will you post some pics showing more of her eyebrows?
Thank you!

As far as the brows go, I'm honestly not at all happy with them, so I'm glad the wig I chose has bangs. In fact I haven't been happy with any of the brows I've done so far. I even tried pastel first and then watercolor pencils this time, and they still look blech.  :( I like the shape and expression of these, but they're just too bushy and fake looking for me. :huh:

And I'm sorry for the awful lighting, it's nearly 10pm here. :eesh:

Monster Discussion / Re: Travelling with dolls
« on: April 28, 2017, 03:07:50 PM »
We don't travel much, but have plans to start doing so sometime in 2018, because we've nearly paid off all of our debt now.... and I really want to take a Pullip with me on trips for pictures and such. If I do, I'm going to get one of those special carrying cases for them. I see a maker of one on Instagram all the time, so I'll probably buy one of those, as long as they're not too outrageously priced. lol

Right now, I do take them out for pictures in the front yard all the time.

Aw, I love Tessa and Finny together! :biggrin:

Haha. He was loving that I was taking photos outside, and snuggling against my legs, so I had to get some shots of him with her. :)

I love the dress, photos (especially the - is it forsythia? - one) and Finny!

Thank you! <3

She is so cute!  It's amazing how they become "ours" through customization.

I know! I actually think I might like my MIO girls a bit more than my stock girls, because *I* made them, you know? It's pretty cool. I never thought I would get so into customizing.

Speaking of customizing, I finished a new girl today, so of course I had to take a ton of pictures of her. :lol:  ^^;

Everyone, meet Tessa <3 :

Thanks guys! I actually ended up going darker and bolder with the lips. I did a full faceup on her last night, and then re-tweeked the eyelashes and blush today in the daylight. Artificial vs. natural lighting really does make a difference when working on these girls, I've found. lol.

Anyways, here she is. I'm pretty happy with her. <3 I've definitely found that the mocha kits are much more forgiving and easier to work on than the natural kits. lol. Still, I think my skills are continuously improving, and I'm at least glad all of my dolls don't look exactly the same, as I was initially worried about that when making my own. ^^;

I'm working on my 5th MIO. She's my last natural Pullip kit, and I had done a faceup on her the same time I did Chanelle's, but I hated how it came out, and decided to wipe it. It's too humid to spray today, but seeing the remnants of her lip blushing in the cracks I couldn't reach with the sandpaper was driving me nuts, so I decided to work on her lips for now, and just put it somewhere safe until I can seal it.

I'm going for a nice full lip, with more definition than my previous faceups. I think they came out nice. I might add some creases in her lower lip with watercolor pencils after I seal it. We'll see.

What do you guys think? (I could use some encouragement  ^^; )

Off Topic / Re: Reboots, Remakes, and Revivals oh my!
« on: April 23, 2017, 10:05:40 PM »
I know it's a bit different than the other things mentioned in this thread, but the original did come out in 1997... I'm eagerly awaiting the Final Fantasy VII Remake. I love everything I've seen of it so far, and I cannot wait to play the first game in it. Hopefully it won't be too much longer.
I think the Final Fantasy VII remake was the beginning of the hype train for me, lol.  My sister is afraid it's not going to work, but Square puts a lot of heart into anything Final Fantasy VII, especially when it comes to pleasing fans.  I need to get a PS4 before it comes out, but the Switch has my attention right now.

I think people expecting it to be just like the original will be disappointed by it, but from everything we've seen and learned about it, (which at this point honestly isn't too much) I really think I'm going to enjoy it. I mean I still get goosebumps watching the E3 2015 reveal trailer, to this day. :lol:

It will be, in the very least, something to drool over graphically. XD
