Monster Discussion / Re: Draculaura and Fangelica Birthday 2 pack

What a shame; that Fangelica had a nicer dress/collar. I still prefer the single pack's shoes, though, and the headband/hat thing would have to go. :p

There were several really nice dolls near the end that just didn't make it out the gate before it closed. :( Alas.

Could be worth a try! Luckily I was able to keep this Meowlody's striped section out of harm's way this time, but this won't be the last time I treat a stripey cat for glue.

I do have a couple of bait dolls I could conceivably test a paint mix on, although I'll need to check and make sure at least one of them has the right hair type.

G2 sig Cleo. I only saw her in-store maybe twice, and then never again. Didn't think she'd become scarce so fast.

A WCT dragonite figure, an oldschool Tomy ho-oh, and a vintage rubber snake whose listing described it as having a "stupid big head", which naturally meant I had to have that.

Monster Discussion / Werecat hair stripes: restorable?
« on: July 24, 2020, 02:17:41 PM »
I've wondered this for a while, but it's really on my mind at the moment since I have a few werecat dolls with glue issues and general hair nastiness, and the method I use to treat that involves, among other things, water and dish soap. (I've never been satisfied with the results from corn starch/baby powder, so I'd prefer not to go with a dry method.)

Currently I've got a Meowlody next in line for the goo gone. Her striped section of hair is miraculously untouched by the glue thus far, and I've got it sticking out and separated by means of a very small sandwich clip so that I can try and keep it out of the way while I work on the rest--but accidents can happen!

So I'm wondering what, if anything, can be used to paint the stripes back on should it come to that. Something that can make crisp lines that won't bleed. (What do they actually use to put the stripes on in the first place, anyway?)

Replacement stock for sig Honey. Her old dress was just sad; it had barely any fur and was stained, and her bracelet was yellowed. She looks way better now!

Got SDCC Wydowna, finally! Also finally got wave 1 Ghoulia's cassette purse.

I cannot get over Shoo. What a precious little bug.

Ordered replacement stock for my Ghouls Rule Abbey, plus a spare G2 Lagoona to rebody the Monster Family Lagoona with.

Found Scaris Deuce at the flea market, minus glasses and bag.

The velcro on those shorts just will not stay fastened.

First thrift find in a while: a SRM Operetta wearing the white spiderweb dress + belt, shoes, and purple jacket from the deluxe fashion pack.

I just realized that Luna's youngest siblings would be caterpillar kids.

So Glo Worms, basically. :B

I'm usually terrible at spotting wonky faces, but yikes. A bit worse and I would have bought her

Ah, budget cheerleader Lagoona. Truly the gift that keeps on giving. :P

Monster Discussion / Complete MH+EAH stand and brush guide?

Was wondering if such a thing existed. Right now I'm staring down a massive jumble of plastic and hoping to figure out what all goes with whom. XD

Garden Ghouls wings trio. Toralei's possibly the wonkiest doll I own now, but she's so pretty that I can hardly care. Plus the bug glasses do a fine job of concealing it anyhow. :B

Every time I look at these I'm just struck by how much more... like actual toys the Max Steel ones seem compared to the MH offerings.

Just got back from a week spent out of state, during which I found these:

I had completely given up on finding them with the original articulation, and yet there they were! Along with Earl Grey, whom I found hiding not far from them.

I have yet to encounter a Lumina in person myself. Usually the nearest Target has a couple of Wingrids at the most, hence I was quite surprised to find a lone Beetrice there once. I'm just glad I was able to nab her then and there.

And the molded inner monster wigs from the add-on packs (e.g. the fire wig) have no pegs at all, so they should work just fine on any CAM.
