I agree with you!  In the video I saw for making Barbie clothes, they used it also for making nice hems on tops with sleeves.  .

Sightings / Re: TARGET: Finds & Sales
« on: August 07, 2018, 01:22:39 PM »
I visited Target in East Greenbush, NY on Saturday.  No MH (or EAH), and it appears they were in the midst of re-stocking.  I looked for retro MLPs, but they didn't have any.  Fashionistas selection was slim pickings too.  No MTM either.  But, I did find Rockers drummer girl for $20 so I got her.  I love her hair.  The shoes....erm...not so much.

I found one price check scanner, but didn't use it so I don't know if it was working.

I want future generations of girls to get this encouragement too when they go through the same thing.
But if there are no feminine girls in media left, how will they get this encouragement?

I agree!
I'll still check out the series, just to see if they made any last minute changes, and also to see how good it is.  When does it start again?

Wanted / Wanted: Made To Move AA Barbie Hiker = still searching
« on: July 30, 2018, 02:35:00 PM »
Does anyone have access to a store that has the MTM African-American Barbie at retail?  She can be deboxed (I prefer it actually).  I'm willing to pay for shipping, gas, etc.  I'd like 2 or 3, but will settle for one. :)  Thanx!

UPDATE:  Still looking for the made to move African Amercan Barbie (hiker).

We had a thread dedicated to altering Barbie clothes for MH and EAH.  Check this out and see if it helps:,8199.0.html

We also had 2 threads that gave instructions on altering clothes, but the images are missing:

Just purchased and received a used VCR on Ebay.  I found some old VHS home movies we made with an old video camera, including one of me from 1986 (I was 21 then), so now I can transfer them to DVD.
I was so thin back then.....  :ack:

I think I'm the only one who doesn't like the new animation, it looks like something taken from Cartoon Network

No you're not.  I saw the original series, and the animation was better (IMO).  My only complaint was that they could've used a few more voice actors.  In this version, She-Ra looks more like a boy wearing a fall.  Can't they make her look a little more feminine?

Also, it sounds like her story is different from the original.  In the original version, she and Adam are twins that were born to the King & Queen on Eternia, and Hordak comes to steal both, but only manages to capture Adora.  (Hordak and the Horde were originally on Eternia for a time.)  She is then raised by the Horde on Etheria and kept in control thanx to Shadow Weaver's spells.  When Adam comes to find her, he brings her Sword of Protection.  She is an adult now.
Initially she sees him as just another rebel, but when he shows her how evil the Horde really is, and when the Sorceress tells her *who* they both are, Adora is able to break free from the spell and become She-Ra, and her horse Spirit becomes Swift Wind.  Adora returns home to meet her parents, but cannot stay for the rebellion needs her on Etheria.
The story is a little more deep than that, but I'll leave it at that.  You can see her story in He-Man & She-Ra:  Secret Of the Sword on Youtube:

Purchased 2 more Fashionistas, #79 Pink Love and #91 Varsity Platitude.  I have a LIV body which I think will match her.  Someone told me that the LIV bodies are the same height as petite Fashionistas.  So I picked up some in different skintones so I can rebody some of my ladies.

Managed to visit a couple thrift stores in Pennsylvania.  I found two articulated Barbie dolls!  WOOOT!  (Not as nice as MTM but they'll do.) Then I found what I think might be Generation Girl (GG) Tori, since she has long blonde hair in pigtails with aqua streaks and the GG body.  Also a Skipper sized doll with vinyl legs, but ink stains that i think I can remove.  Not much, but at least now I have a couple donor bodies for my Fashionistas!

Thank you    respositob for the advice.  I'll have to get a pair of plastic gloves now.  (Need them anyway, as I also want to dye a couple Dawn dolls tan.)

I purchased some Goo Gone, to see if that will help with glue hair, and also sticky hair.  (one of my dolls accidentally had soda dumped on her hair)  Also some artist markers in different skintones to help with my MOD Barbies.

Monster Discussion / Re: Positivity for the reboot?
« on: July 08, 2018, 09:17:00 AM »
I've tried to find as much positivity in the reboot too.  But it's not easy when fave characters get the watered down treatment.

However, I agree with Konzern.  Moanica is freaky fab!
The boys are more buff!
I also liked some of the main ghouls' new sig outfits.  Since I didn't like their faces or bodies, I put the clothes on my G1 dolls.  I also enhanced Cleo's shoes and accessories with gold paint, to give her more class and sass.  (She is the daughter of a goddess!)
With Frankie's outfit, I shortened her skirt so it was more of a miniskirt.  It's little things like that, that I've attempted to do to keep my interest in MH alive.

Monster Discussion / Re: Will there be a SDCC release this year?
« on: July 06, 2018, 01:13:25 PM »
Yes, I saw them and I absolutely agree!  They look more like adults on MTM type bodies.  Draculaura would need a petite body since she's shorter than the others.

I like some of the fashions.  Finding bodies is to replace their original ones is the hardest part for me.

But to get back on topic...
I just did a quick check and it looks like the Mattel SDCC exclusives have been relegated to MOTU, She-Ra and a couple others.  No MH or EAH.  No DCSHG either.

I actually love the Fashionistas precisely because they come in different shapes and sizes.  As a petite plus size woman myself it's great.  Collectors have clamored for this for years.  The MTM dolls are amazing with their articulation.  (Hard to find for me, but amazing still.)  I wish MH had made some curvy dolls.  I'd love to get Skelita's mom as a doll.

But anyway, back to is kinda sad there aren't any new dolls coming out from Mattel.  But it's also a relief for my wallet, LOL.  I'm still trying to get my mitts on another Manny.
