Clawdeen's Closet / The smell of Fray-Check.
« on: September 28, 2017, 01:12:58 PM »
Does anyone have any tips for getting rid of that Fray-Check aroma?
I really cannot stand the smell of it, but I can't seem to get rid of it.  Even after washing my doll clothes, the smell is still there and quite strong. :(

Any tips or advice is most appreciated. :)

Trader Support / Issues with TRU online ordering.
« on: August 20, 2017, 10:46:42 AM »
Has anyone else experienced problems when ordering from TRU's website?

I placed an order with them last night, and after hitting "Submit order" I was taken straight back to my cart.  I didn't receive a confirmation message or an order number.  I checked my Order Status page and there were no transactions.  I checked my email and there was no confirmation email from them.
So I tried resubmitting the order.  I did this three times.  Finally, after the third attempt, my credit card account updated with a charge.  As of this morning I still have no confirmation email or order number from TRU, but I have a pending charge on my credit card.

I emailed TRU this morning and requested verification of my order, but it might take up to 2 business days before I hear back from them.

Are issues like this common with them?  I've never experienced a problem like this with any other online shops that I've ever ordered from, and I'm feeling pretty annoyed at the moment.  I don't want to be charged for something that TRU has no record of and won't be shipping to me. :annoyed:

« on: August 09, 2017, 07:45:04 PM »
I am currently looking to buy a nude Disney Store 17" singing princess doll.  I am particularly interested in Pocahontas but will consider others.
Please PM me if you have one of these beauties that you'd like to sell. :)

I found a Pocahontas on eBay for a good price.  Thank you for looking. :)

I've been doing a lot of sewing lately in preparation for the relaunch of my Etsy store.  Previously I sold repainted dolls in my shop, but now I will be selling PDF sewing patterns (and probably still some repaints as well :P).  So over the past few weeks I have been drafting, sewing, adjusting, and redrafting some of my better clothing patterns into printable files.

Off Topic / Battle for the Net.
« on: July 12, 2017, 12:28:04 PM »
Hey, guys.  Today is Battle for the Net Day, when millions of Americans are petitioning the FCC and Congress to dissuade FCC Chairman Ajit Pai from lifting net neutrality regulations.
You've probably seen and heard a lot about this lately.  It's a very complex mess, but the gist is that without net neutrality in place, internet service providers will essentially be able to control what American citizens see and do online.  They'll be able to block websites, slow websites down, and give certain websites an advantage over other sites by allowing them to pay for "fast lane" access.

There are many ways in which this will affect us, but as doll collectors and artists, this will directly impact our ability to buy and sell handmade doll clothing and accessories, customization supplies, and custom dolls online.
Any small business owners who cannot pay for "fast lane" access will have their online shops slowed down.  Slower loading speeds will deter customers from shopping from websites like Dollyhair, Pullip Style, or The Junky Spot.  And for those of us who sell through marketplace sites like Etsy, we may very well see an increase in our seller fees which we will then have to pass on to our customers.

If you would like to help support net neutrality, go to https://www.battleforthenet.com and send a letter to the FCC and Congress (they even have a pre-written letter that you can simply sign and send).

Off Topic / RIP, Princess Leia.
« on: December 27, 2016, 11:53:47 AM »
Carrie Fischer died this morning at age 60 after suffering a heart attack on Friday.

She is the fifth Star Wars cast member to pass away this year (Drewe Henley, who played Red X-Wing Squadron Leader Garven Dreis, died on February 14th; Erik Bauersfeld, who played Admiral Ackbar, died on April 3rd; Kenny Baker, who played R2-D2, died on August 13th; and Michael Leader, who played "Clumsy" Stormtrooper, died on August 22nd).

This saddens me so much, and my heart breaks for her family.  RIP, Princess Leia.

Customs / SaelaVe's Customs (Update: Barbie repaint on pg 3 [04/30/17])
« on: September 14, 2016, 10:50:25 AM »
It's been quite a while since my last MH/EAH repaint, but I've recently started to modify my Frightfully Tall Ghouls and I'm having such a blast.  I'd almost forgotten how much I love doing this. ^.^

So this is Gellian Montagoo.  I picked her up on Amazon for just under $8.  I already had a Gooliope, but at that price who could resist, right?
I originally intended on keeping her stock face-up; but the sad truth is that I find Goo's makeup to be a bit garish, despite how much I love the doll. ^^;  So I decided to tone her down, just a bit.  Well, one thing lead to another and pretty soon "just a bit" turned into a completely new character. lol

I removed Goo's bright yellow eye shadow and upper eyelid design and replaced them with a soft pink that matches her skin tone.  I also removed some of the black dots that decorate her lower lashes to make them appear a bit shorter and less pronounced.
I repainted her eyes from blue to purple and removed the hazard symbols.
Her lips were repainted to match her hair and eyebrows.
I was trying to achieve a look which more closely resembled the classic MH face-up design, rather than the elaborate makeup designs of Freak du Chic.
