If you go on Garrett’s instagram, it sounds like its a custom?

So probably a one-off

Yeah you're right.  Especially the part about "share these hashtags to make it happen."

*Edit:  And if you go to @rebecula13's Instagram, she has a recent post (July 13th) where she appears to confirm that there is no MH exclusive this year:
Garret tagged her in the Cleo-Lyn photo, so it looks like that's her doll.

Are you sure that she's going to be for sale?  There's no mention of her on SDCC Blog, and she's not listed on Mattel's pre-sale page. :/
Not sure but the little tag that has MH  x MOTU I think validates it...

I mean, maybe.  But usually their tags have some amount of merchandise information on them—pricing, what store/venue the item will be available through, general release time frame, etc..  But that tag has no price, nothing that says "SDCC exclusive", nothing that indicates that it'll be for sale at all.  Just the names of the two franchises with an X between them. :/

Please understand, I'm not trying to shoot this down or be overly negative or anything.  And I'm not trying to say that it's not legit.  I'm questioning whether or not this is going to be available for sale at the convention.
I'm trying to wrap my head around why Mattel would sit on an MH con exclusive (and an MH/MoTU crossover at that) and give no indication whatsoever that something like this would be available for sale.  It's just odd is all.

It just seems odd that Mattel would announce something like this the day before the convention begins, without giving anyone the opportunity to pre-order her and when it's too late for anyone to order her through eBay sellers (there are also no eBay listing for her). :/

I'm wondering if this was a one-off created for display at the convention.  Perhaps something that they may auction off later on.

Hot Topic will begin selling SDCC exclusives tomorrow.  Our Hot Topic will be opening their doors an hour early and will have a big display with all of the con exclusives right up front.  There's a 5-Pops-per-person limit.

Claire, have you ever watched Say 'I Love You'?  You'd probably like that one a lot.

Customs / Re: EAH/MH mini customs

A few people did, but it didn't seem to take off and not many people made them. :(  (In fact, I haven't seen a great many minis customs at all.)
I seem to remember someone here making a mini LD Apple.

*Edit:  Here they are.  I was mistaken.  It isn't LD Apple, it's sig Apple and sig Raven:,12535.msg261092.html#msg261092
And it turns out they're the same two customs that Konzern found. XD

from what I can tell Amazon workers are striking due to low wages and poor working conditions and are asking the public to boycott Amazon during prime days as a show of support. The strike seems to mostly be taking place in Spain from what I can tell.

Oh okay.  Thanks, fury.

Yeah I see a few article on it now.  I hadn't heard anything about it before now.

I missed this.  Why are they being boycotted?

I think i heard a theory that G2 is somewhat of a prequel to G1? Anyone know?

That seems like that's probably just a wishful fan theory to be honest.
For one, much of G2 directly contradicts G1 in a way that it couldn't possibly have happened first and then happened again in a totally different manner (e.g.: the way in which the main characters meet and the origin for the school itself).

For another, while I know that Mattel was hesitant to call the reboot a reboot, they also heavily implied as much.  I don't recall them ever saying anything that indicated that this was a prequel to the original story.
They did indicate that none of the original characters had been removed from the canon, but not that G2 was necessarily in the same continuity as G1.  You would think that if they had intended for G2 to be a prequel that they simply would've said so.  But again, how do you make a prequel to a story in which we've already seen Frankie meet the other ghouls... and then go back in time and show her meet the same ghouls all over again in a totally different way than how she originally met them?

My bad you guys, i'm still relatively new here and didn't see any posts about it.
To be fair, i still only really hear negativity about it because i'm mostly on instagram as of now

Oh that's quite alright.  I didn't mean that you were wrong for starting a new thread on the topic (the old thread went inactive and got locked anyway).  I meant more that we do have fans here who enjoy the reboot, we're just not talking about it very much lately.
I can only imagine how bad the hate is on social media.

For my part, I really, really love the G2 animations!  I was never a fan of the G1 films or webisodes, but the new animations are so adorable, so beautifully animated, and very well-written.  My whole family really enjoys them.

Kids are impressionable and if someone popular like Blue Duckie was saying that the new MH dolls sucked and that Shoppies were great they are going to go with the Shoppies.

OMG you are so right.  There are certain Youtubers that I hate for my daughter to even watch.  Not because there's anything wrong with them, but because every single time she watches one of their videos she'll suddenly start asking me for some toy that she's never had any interest in before. :annoyed:
They have a lot of sway over what kids buy, and the toy manufacturers themselves know this (just look at all of the gifts that these Youtubers get sent by manufacturers wanting them to promote their products).

Thank you guys! Follow-up question, does Apple White have any other skin matches?

We have an excellent body match thread over in Customs that might be worth checking out:,9256.msg204666.html#msg204666

We actually have had "love for G2" threads in the past (,15128.0.html).  It's just an older topic now since most of our collective focus is on whether the brand will even be around for much longer.

Just paid for my June AmiAmi order, which got delayed by an item that had to be pulled at the last minute. It's full of goodies, including Figmas of Utena and Cu Chulainn, the 4 Inch Nel figure of Fate/Apocrypha's Jack the Ripper, a static 1/7 statue of Astolfo from the same, Tohsaka Rin's Nendoroid release, a MADAO windbreaker for my partner, and various Heaven's Feel goodies, including bag straps for my Medusa/Rider bag.

The new GST malarkey really hurt, though. 5200yen in GST fees because they charge it on top of the total PLUS shipping. With current exchange rate, that's nearly 70AUD. ._.

I think I'm going to have to cut back on my AmiAmi buys from now on.

Ooo, that sounds like a great haul!
But I'm so sorry to hear about how much the GST tax is going to end up costing you. :(  I saw that announcement on AmiAmi a couple of days ago and immediately thought of you.  That really sucks.

My Cu-poche Miho Nishizumi arrived yesterday, and I love her so much that I've placed an order for two more. ^^;
I picked up the Cu-poche Extra grey suit body and a pre-owned Asuna.

I was going to ask on your photo how she's going, but I guess that answers it! XD

I wasn't planning on buying any more right away.  I figured I would just add one to my next monthly order.  But when I saw the pre-owned Asuna I knew that I couldn't pass her up.  They're so cute! <3
