Just watched it, as i picked the movie up at lunch time.  The hubby sat with me as he usually does to watch all the MH movies....and both of our reviews concluded the same thing.  This was TERRIBLE.  This basically wiped the slate clean about any MH character you know and rewrote their history.  TERRIBLE.  Why Mattel didn't pick up from where the other movies/cartoons left off I will never know, but this ruined my night seeing my favorite characters rewritten and dumbed down.

Mini rant...pun intended.  I ordered the new series 2 case from the Mattel.com site, it arrived today and not a single new one in the box.  Yep they sent me series 1 and they are now sold out of the series 2, so it is a big long return process for me with no new mini's.  If you are buying from sellers on Ebay who are selling the cases of series 2 be careful, as they might not know if Mattel sends the wrong ones.

whomp whomp for me.

I just saw today that there are two versions of Ari, a fleshy color and a clear sparkly one, does anyone know if they have the same code number?

Also it appears that more folks are starting to see wave 2 in blind boxes ....waiting on Mattel to ship mine before I venture out and randomly buy them.  No baggies at my Target or Walmart, all still coffins, and they appear to be the originals.

patiently waiting in Texas...

Mel

Did everyone see that Series 2 is available and in stock on the Mattel site.  Only 7/12 are new figures as 5 of the 3 pack girls make a re-appearance.  They are asking 59.99 for a case of 20 random, and because it is over 39.99 shipping is free.  No Duece, Twyla or Robecca  though.  :(

I asked on the Mattel Monster High FB page about Ghoulia, as she didn't make an appearance in the movie, or in the mini's is my favorite Smart Ghoul being pushed out, and they responded, that she will be making appearances and she hasn't been forgotten.  So hopefully she will start showing up!

I started to go see the movie, but chickened out at the last minute afraid I would be disappointed by the reboot.  Hearing some of the stuff that is going on within the movie makes me a tad bit sad, as a lot of MH Scaratiage has been rewritten now....how about them traveling back in time to find Sparky in MH's early beginning, with teachers like Hexicha?  Draculaura not getting her wings until she found Elizabat?  Ms. Wolf dating Dracula makes Draculaura and Clawd like....step siblings now right?

I think I will go back and live in a MH world that precedes this movie, to keep the timeline in my head straight and keep me from going crazy...

The Irony of MH embracing the Monster in you, freaky flaws and all, and then for Mattel to change the face paint on all the dolls so they are less monster and more....Barbie.  The reason I fell in love with the dolls is because of the monster scaritage (heritage) they were beautiful before, but now as I visit the toy isle, I am starting to see more of the vapid smiles, less ghouls and more pink.  sigh.

Are the coffins just a promo special and they are going to the baggies or vice/versa?  I like the little coffins as a place for the mini's to sit, but I don't want to keep collecting series one all over again just to get it. If the baggies are the future I guess I will have to invest in the carrier.  Did anyone pre-order it yet?

I broke down and bought the Twyla chases figures (lot of 2) from someone in Canada, so I am still waiting on Rochelle.  TRU online has the new Clawdeen, so I think we may still see wave 5.  Let's hope so at lease!

Big thanks to you all for posting the SKU for Tuesday Morning Ghoulia, I was able to track down quite a few in the Metroplex.  If you are here in Texas I can give you the stores that show having her in stock.  Also I picked up a couple of extra for anyone on the board still looking to get her.  As a thanks for helping me find her.  :)

I believe you are right about them just being slow.  I recently have seen that Toys R Us has the new Clawdeen for sale from wave 5.  It is my hope that with her release, that we will see Jinafire, Caterine, and chase Rochelle!

Hey There QuirkyCat!  I started my love affair with MH by watching the Web-episodes, then it led to the movies.  As a doll collector I even tried to collect the dolls, but they are so tiny (my main doll collection is 16" dolls) that i felt like I would break them.  So when the vinyl figures were released they were just what I needed.  They capture the fun spirit the ghouls have, without the fear of breaking them.  And then those darn mini's came along and I had to get those too!

As a collector I know how much a slippery slope getting a new collection can be, so the vinyls were a safer collection for me.  :)

Howl at cha Later Ghoul!

Hey all I am CarmMeldoll, from the Lone Wolf State (uuuummm I mean Lone Star State of Texas!)  I am an avid MH lover.  I am currently collecting both the vinyl figures and Mini's.  I am also going to see the new movie next week!!!  My favorite MH ghouls are Ghoulia and Clawdeen.

While I don't collect the MH dolls, I am a doll collector and have been collecting for the last 20+ years.  (Barbie, F/R, BJD's, FBDJ's).  My other hobbies include comic book collecting, anime/manga, and space stuff.

I look forward to meeting lots of new Clawesome friends here!

hugs,

~mel~
