Winter clothes for my grandkid
3 scarfs / ponchos with sleeves (they'll be gifts)
Boyfriend's Christmas and birthday gift
A sweater for my niece

Got Nina and Jillian. I thought I was done collecting this line and not getting any additional dolls but found them with the same seller I was getting some MH and decided to go for it

I do, the whole line turned up in a Mattel outlet here in Colombia for some reason, and I have helped other Arena members get their dolls. If you'd like, feel free to PM me.

She got Cupid for me.  :)

And for me

Going over my wishlist to see if there was any old doll that I wanted, and ended up getting Abbey MF, Haunted Rochelle, and Freaky Fusion Clawvenus and Lagoonafire because I had customs planed for the later 2 but couldn't go through with them given that I only had them once and the idea of not accepting them how they originally are made me feel bad. Yes I know that's kind of being silly, but I do feel better knowing I have their original version as back up so I can proceed with the customizing of the second one  ^^;

Day 330

It will be a raw expression of my exhaustion from this challenge  :P

It doesn't help that aside from Nina and some other sporadic collaboration you are practically keeping this thread alive (and I love you and feel very grateful for that) :(

Superb pictures of the sleeping beauties

I'm so enjoying your new collection of pictures Neon.
Love the artistic darkness

What overwhelms me is mostly the idea of cleaning them.
I have no idea how they manage to collect so much dust and it's a pain to see them all dirty while on display.
But if I take them all down for a cleaning session, it would be like the activity for the weekend and I get tired just planning it. ^^;

My to-do list today includes doing just one row of the Billy shelves my dolls are on. So the bottom most shelf of each case. Then I'll do the next shelf another day (maybe not tomorrow, we'll see how I go). I'm going to go through a lot of canned air over the next few days. @_@

lol I know
I can do with planning a cleaning just 1 shelf per weekend and that's fine for the dolls on my bedroom and in the kids bedroom.
The issue is for the ones on the living room (yes, dolls have taken over my house since a long time ago).
One individual shelf has around 90 dolls as it's the top shelf of an entertainment center, that allows 4 rows of dolls in makeshift bleachers  ^^; ^^;

Yeah, the cleaning of a collection CAN feel daunting. These are some things I've been doing to help me feel less dis/stressed about keeping my collection clean.

nassib, a friend gave me an ostrich feather duster, and that has been the BEST thing for cleaning my dolls!!! Practically effortless to give them a few swipes. And even kinda fun. Their hair tends to get a little static-y, but otherwise it's been great.

Also, a far more experienced doll collector than I said she keeps the ceiling fan on 'low' all the time in her doll room (which is a bedroom in their house) - she says that any dust in the air doesn't settle that way. She says she never has to dust.

If you have forced-air heat and AC, consider having your ducts cleaned. When our condo was new, we never had to dust - but now 15 years later, seems there's always dust everywhere.

I have a feather duster and a synthetic one. They do the trick quite well if accompany by a paint brush and a soft cloth, but I still need to remove the dolls from their display.
In my room and in my daughters' room, we have a ceiling fans in low, oddly that's where the dust settles the more.  :shrug:

The AC I have is a mini split in the living room so there are no ducts and the filters get wash and clean every 3 months. The dolls near on the living room are the ones that normally have less dust, but the amount of dolls together is greater as mentioned in the comment above.
So if I want to clean the 23-25 dolls on the back row I need to get the 60+ dolls on the front off first  :haha:

We manage and boyfriend always helps as he has a collection of his own too. So I do like that cleaning dollies always becomes a family activity. But after a couple of hours we are always tired  ^^;

The big toy store I used to go, has the little monsters they still have all shoved in the "old stuff aisle".
It's so harsh as they used to have a huge section with boxes in both sides of the aisle plus tons of stuff in the middle in their former glory days.
I can't help a lonely tear every time I pass through there.

nassib, what an awesome collection! When did you start?

 :wonder: according to amazon I got some dolls for my daughters for the Christmas of 2012, but those where after a draught when it was pretty hard to find dolls. So probably the first were from 2011

Deluxe Farrah and Holly are cute. I would have bought them.

When they couldn't even released a cheap Getting Fairest and reused fabric (Farrah only has two dolls and you're doing that...), you know they mismanaged this property.

There where two Farrahs? Signature and which other?  :blink:

Day 285

I didn't know what to do for today's photo, and wasn't in the mood to think about it too much, as I had to take kitty to the vet (she's OK now, she has UTC, but she got antibiotics and meds to suppress symptoms, so she's not in pain). So I did the 'first stupid idea' thing again. I decided to take a group shot of my dolls with twintails. ...I didn't quite realize I had so many... They didn't fit in one shot, so I changed it to characters that have twintails as signature style. Then I narrowed it to loose twintails, no buns or braids (Her Insane Majesty was very upset, because this was her chance to get featured two days in a row; I had to promise her extra photo to make up for this one). Now they fit!

I have no idea what they're talking about...

I just love interacting group shots  <3
This one is beautiful Neon.
I've missed many awesome pictures, it was such a delight to catch up on this thread.

My partner is a beautiful human being. He knew I was hoping to get a MiniFee when the sewing machine carked it, so he told me he'd pay for a body and other pieces, in order to get the current event head. ;__;

I am a spoilt woman, and when he told me he wanted me to order the doll, I was just crushed by sentiment.

That is incredibly sweet! <3
Congrats! :D

Thank you. <3

He is a wonderful and supportive human being. He also reasoned that the doll + the sewing machine basically came out to my original plan's cost, so it makes me extra fuzzy that he actually knew what I was doing. LOL

It sounds weird, but I figure he tunes out when I go on a doll ramble. He proved me wrong yet again.

He's a keeper!

100% <3 (and for many more reasons than this, but those aren't doll-relevant)

 :love: <3 :love: <3

Congratulations DogMom!

Thanks! Just went a-googling and found it, Pinterest and YouTube info. I think I'd seen that before and forgot about it!

Will you finish your handmade Hoodude now that you have your birthday prezzie one?

Yes, I mean to finish him because I still think he should be handmade in order to be more show accurate

Went to Indianapolis for a training, and had brought daughters and me a couple of geeky t-shirts and a supernatural eyeshadow pallet. A Waldo costume for me, a blouse and head bands for my niece, onsies for the grandkid and keychains

nassib, where'd you get a Hoodude pattern?

Congrats on your dollies!

I think the Hoodude pattern  was from my Froggy stuff
 (it might have been from their YouTube channel or their web page or a combination from their website and some other. It's been several years ^^U
