This weekend was the pale equivalent of black Friday offers in my country and everything MH was 60% off at a toy store so I got HTC Clawdeen and a BC set (the one with 2 chairs), around 10 USD each (not a great offer but decent enough)

Don't forget about the boy one that was only released in Mexico- the Uncle styling head  :shades:

Was this an official release??? Do you have a picture? I've not heard of this one.

It's a bad joke

Anti-Styling head, Uncle-Styling head.

OMG, my only excuse is that I just came up for air after spending the last few hours coding.   XD

I don't get it. But then again, English is not my first language.
Anti (auntie) and Uncle

oooh! good one then :)

Draculaura's Darkroom / Re: Reboot dolls?
« on: Today at 02:05:54 PM »
I think that even though the reboot is not to my liking in most cases, there are some jewels.
Sorry for the quality of some, I'm getting lazier by the minute, and can't always get excited enough to get the camera out and set proper props or take proper pictures. I totally blame the reboot and the less quality of stuff.

This is, for me of course, the greatest jewel of G2. Which reminds me, I haven't fix her hair to make sure the curls stay in place and have less flyaways.

Lagoona seems to have benefit from the reboot in areas that Draculaura and Frankie now seem soul-less.

I'm not a fan of the eyes on Cleo G2, but this specific doll, along with Collector's and Music, are actually nice. Pale in comparison to Signature, 2.0 & Scaris, but still cute enough.

While her color combination is nice, I'm still not convince by her face nor by the fact that she keeps appearing while Spectra keeps disappearing, but I'm still trying to give this ghoul a chance. I haven't seen the Howliday special but everything in the media is making me dislike her more with each new appearance.

I'm not sure if I should count this Skelita in G2, I mean the body seems exactly the same as G1, but the face follows the rules of G2. Her clothes are beautiful, and her face is nice, but I really need her nose to be black again.

Another jewel. That smirk is priceless. I think her and SloMo are the dolls that benefit greatly from wonkiness. I like her palette although could live without the green. I can't hate her much for replacing Ghoulia as she has only have 3 releases, so it's hardly like she's everywhere replacing my favorite zombie.

Oh I have her and haven't really compare with anyone, though she seems taller.
Is she regular size doll? or tall sister doll?

Monster Discussion / Re: Holiday swap?
« on: Today at 10:56:56 AM »
I'm sad to see the swap canceled. I love to follow the progress and the end results each year. I can't participate because the regular mail in my country sucks and customs require extra documentation sometimes or else the packages get stuck (without any notice by the way), which means that only packages using higher courier prices actually arrive.

I don't mind sending them with additional protection if it means it will arrive, but I know that for other members to send something to me would have to adjust the price range of the goodies to be able to count in the international shipping price or try the regular mail which has 50% of chances of getting lost.

My other option is having everything send to my parents and have them mail me the swap package afterwards but they might be moving soon, and since they have no exact date for that I rather not risk it.

Monster Discussion / Re: Rebodied MH Siblings?
« on: Today at 10:48:08 AM »
I haven't completed the project yet, but the heads can be comfortably rebodied on Enchantimals bodies, which have slightly more articulation.  I'm redoing Fangelica and will be doing more radical work than just headswapping, since I will also be attaching the hands and feet of her original body to the Enchantimal body.  But the scales of the bodies are very close, and the head joints are almost identical.

Well, Kara, I am looking forward to THAT mod!! Please do WIP pics!!!

I had 0 interest in any of the siblings due to the lack of articulation, though I initially liked Kelpie but was disappointed by her non articulate body. The only enchantimals I've seen with more articulations are the ones that come with bikes. Are that the ones you are referring to?

If by duplicates you mean more than one of the exact same doll of my favorite doll, then no.
I don't own any duplicates of EAH dolls

However, if by duplicates, you mean more than one doll of my favorite doll, regardless of the line, then no.
I have at 1 Duchess doll of each line release. Although I've never actually decided who my favorite EAH doll is. I'm still fluctuating between Raven, Duchess and Faybelle.

Sightings / Re: MEXICO: Ghouls n Mansters in Mexico

FINALLY saw something new: Del Sol has Frost!

And apropos for nothing, but I heard a girl complaining to her dad that they only had Marinette and Chloé in fancy dresses instead of their everyday clothes. And the dad knew the names of the characters and wondered where the heck was Adrien XD

Aww that's some cool dad :)

Thank you guys!
I had a good weekend with the family :)
And got dollies! Yey!

First of all, why would the ghouls go ballet? It just doesn't make sense. Those are definitely not ballet shoes either ! Molded tights, excessively plastic accessories, and why would zombie Moanica be into ballet anyway?! I don't see Cleo ballet dancing either. They can barely justified Draculaura.. she probably got bored of who knows what century and decided to do something with her life other than study high school over and over again, but still not much sense.
But of course shame on me because I want Moanica  :redface: even though her tutu is such a fiasco, her tights are molded, her accessories are so much plastic, her shoes are clearly not ballerina shoes and her ballerina shoes have spikes. Yes, I feel like such a low hypocrite right now, so please don't look at me  ^^;
Good thing Requiem made a ballerina pattern that includes shoes, so I might give it a go someday

It's rare but it is possible for a high school to have a ballet class as a physical education option.

The shoes might not be accurate for ballet but they remind me of something on those Russian artist BJDs or in a Lady Gaga video. Tbh they are really avant garde in a way that's reminiscent of pre-reboot MH.
I really do like the look of them.. I mean.. im not sure what there is to dislike.
Lots of acessories?
lots of articulation?
(if i am not mistaken these even have waist articulation ala special edition lala)
They are even going to have stands and brushes.
I think they will be a really nice addition. (Just put monica up to order for crying out loud!)
As for moanica not being into it.. well we have really only seen ONE side of her personality. I like that she might be more diverse.
I mean she really does care about her zomboys(remember the "no im not mad at you any more, your still my zomboyz" from electrified?).
I think its cool to include her.. and COME ON.. its a CROWN made out of INTERNAL ORGANS whats not to like!

Oh I am getting Moanica, I think the doll is gorgeous haha I just think that she shouldn't have been made a ballet dancer, but now that she is, I will totally get her LOL
She's sadly out of stock on amazon now. I didn't know they come with stands! And the painted legs are not that big of a problem as the daughter who saws sells beautiful stockings and as I said before, Requiem did a ballet pattern including shoes, so I might even get 2 Moanicas, so I can leave one as is and one with a different ballet wardrobe

Fiancé brought reboot signature Lagoona. She's cute, and I'm "surprised" that the clothes are actually just one piece

Tbh, other than the molded tights and new faces, the ballet dolls remind me of something we would see during G1.

Lagoona Dance Class probably

Off Topic / Re: Why do you collect?
« on: November 07, 2017, 09:27:00 PM »
THe other reason i collect is that theres a lot of innocence in dolls..
They represent dreams and feelings that people cant really have in the real world sometimes. We cant be princess' or fantastic creatures like wearwolves and and things.
So they are a way for us to have something that normally we would never be able to see.
Strange tho it is.. i think its a good thing for us to have that out let.

what a beautiful way to explain it

Ever After High Discussion / Re: What is your favorite EAH...
« on: November 06, 2017, 10:23:22 PM »
(Why is no one picking Daring for #4?)

Could be the same for favorite outfit...

Because we are mean people and we bully the "moldies"

Those are not ballet shoes  :annoyed:

Take that weird piece for Clawdeen, repaint it, and it could be used as a backpiece for a Thronecoming getup for Cerise. Clawdeen looks so childish with her eyes and her hair like that ...

That's what I really dislike about the reboot. They all look immature at best, void of all cerebral activity at worst. Their expressions are perpetually saying "" or "... lookit the purty lights..."

I like having books, comic books and movies because I tend to reread and rewatch books and films that I like.
I go for displays that can have a nice view of what's there to both have easy access to whatever I'm looking for and to have a good sense of balance and perspective.
I started collecting MH dolls as a common hobbie with my daughters. It was the complete experience: watching the webisodes, reading the books, reading the diaries, searching information online and doll hunting. But I like displaying as then it's easier to make sure it's organize and complete instead of lost or damage in a box full of toys (I had shelves with toys growing up, so I never liked stuff shoved into trunks afterwards).
Then it became an extended hobbie with photography as I started and sewing and art crafting props with boyfriend.
I like the uniqueness with MH as no character is the same and they build a complete alternate universe (the same as with EAH and DC SHG). You can't have this with Barbie or Bratz, because the amount pales against the amount of characters and back stories. I'm aware that their universe has tons of plot holes, but I enjoy filling them with my theories.
