That is exactly what I did:) Hoping to have MonsterHighChecklist organized and ready in the next few days

Great! Glad I could help! And it's awesome that you're continuing with MonsterHighChecklist! I always enjoyed your site! :)

Brags / What did you get for Christmas?
« on: December 28, 2018, 12:35:26 PM »
I guess this can be a place for everyone to post about their Christmas/holiday hauls.

This year I was very lucky to get several American Girl doll items; outfits, accessory sets, and even a new doll! Also received gift cards to Etsy and eBay, as well as a new comforter, throw, and pillows for my bed and a faux-fur saucer chair for my room. And I can't forget about my newest Monster High dolls, FCA Viperine and Home Ick Heath and Abbey!

So, what'd you get?

I know the site MH-Merch has an online checklist and wishlist feature if you sign up for an account, but I don't know if they're printable. Maybe that could be an option?

Awhile ago I decided that since MH is pretty much done, I should start concentrating on getting older dolls that I want because there won't be new dolls. Also going to try and get any characters I don't already have.

So for Christmas, I asked for Viperine Gorgon and my grandpa got her for me! I technically do have already have her, but my first doll is from the thrift store, has super gluey hair, and is missing most of her accessories, so I'm excited to have a complete one. Plus, I'm in love with her pseudo-eighties (or would that be seventies, I'm awful with hairstyle history) hair. Then, with an eBay gift card from my aunt, I ordered Home Ick Abbey and Heath. I've wanted them for sooooo long, and am so overjoyed that I will finally get them!

I am definitely bored with the current selection of dolls. Beside Barbie Fashionistas and Shoppies, there are no dolls that I collect in the toy aisle.

And it seems that these days the overall quality of the few dolls there are have decreased, even as the price increases. Even with notoriously expensive dolls like American Girl, their prices went up and their quality went down. For example, I remember that the entire collection of the 2011 Girl of the Year doll was, when you bought it all at the same time, $479 for fifteen items (which is still CRAZY expensive!). Now, the 2018 Girl of the Year's collection adds up to $898 for thirteen items! (I did the math! ^^; ) And the items in the 2011 collection were so much better, at least in my opinion!

Catrine's Art Studio / Photomanipulations by respositob

Mods, I read through the site rules and didn't see anything that says you can't post links to DeviantArt. If I missed something, though I'm 99% sure I haven't, please let me know. Thanks!

I recently discovered a new form of art, and I'd like to share my creations with everyone!

For those of you who don't know what photomanipulation is, it's basically pasting together images in Photoshop or a similar program to make your own, unique art without having to pick up a pencil! Which is perfect for me, because I seriously can't draw.

I'm still a beginner at this, but I thought I'd leave a link to my DeviantArt page so you guys could check it out if you'd like. I'm not going to post the images directly here, because some of the stock photos I used are not permitted for use outside DeviantArt.

Anyways, here's the link:
I hope you enjoy!

American Girl rewards members got to pick a free outfit, so I got the Winter Sightseeing one. I had never really wanted that outfit before, but since it was free and I didn't like the other outfits they had to choose from, I went ahead and ordered it. And oh, my gosh! It's super cute! I'm especially in love with the shoes. They have a little bow accent on the heel. I still have yet to put it on a doll, but I'm thinking about using it as a Christmas outfit for one of the dolls named Kit.

Oh, and then I got some firefly PNG images from Etsy to use for a Photomanipulation I made for a contest on DeviantArt.

Saw some unarticulated Monster High and lots of DC Superhero Girls at Marshalls. Surprisingly very few Barbie Fashionistas. They usually have a ton of those.

I got a bunch of stuff since it was Black Friday: some Christmas outfits for my American Girl dolls from Etsy, a small ceramic dish for the American Girl dollhouse from Pier 1, and a paper cutter from Michaels, which is going to make my craft projects so much easier. Also got some foam blocks from Michaels to make risers for my Monster High display. (I got the idea from TheBeatlesPkmnFan42)

Not exactly an Ever After High brand item, but as it's for an EAH doll...I got some scrapbook paper from Michaels to be the walls for the dorm room I'm currently making for Apple White. It's a really pretty light pink color with a water color effect. I thought pink would be appropriate since there is a touch of it on her color pallet, and I'm going to be making the floors red and the trim gold, so I needed a contrasting color. :)

Also got some wooden dolphin shapes from Michaels so I can finally finish Meeshell Mermaid's bed.

Ooh, this is still gonna be hard. :wonder:

I think my absolute favorite has to be Clawdeen. I love her fierce style, as I have a soft spot for animal prints and fur, and love the color-combo of gold and purple. I have a thirteen of her dolls (including reboot) and pretty much want all of the other versions I don't have. But if I had to pick my favorite incarnation of Clawdeen, it would be Haunt the Casbah. I don't have that version of her, but I'm obsessed with it, from her gold lips to the crescent moon designs on her dress. Ugh, I love it! :inlove:

Despite my love for Clawdeen, Spectra's a close second (purple's my favorite color  ) My favorite doll is her Signature one, which I have. And then there's Cleo, who was my first Monster High doll along with Deuce, and holds a special place in my heart. Besides, all that glitter? oh my Ra, heck yes! My favorites of her are Skull Shores and Creepateria, both versions of which I own.

My favorite boy is Deuce. As I mentioned, he was my first doll along with Cleo, and I believe him to be the most iconic of the Mansters, but that might be because he was the first one that was released. As for favorite Deuces, it's probably the Mansters 2-pack one. Unfortunately, don't have him.

I tried rerooting a Bratz doll once and I broke three rooting needles in the process! :annoyed: I think that putting the head in a bowl with almost-boiling water would be your best bet. I've personally boil-washed Bratz dolls before, and after about 15-25 seconds their head is nice and soft. Best of luck!

BUMP! Lowered prices!

I believe the "unidentified tail" is a piece for Cleo's vanity. I don't know if it would work as a tail or not. You might need glue. :)
It certainly didn't seem like a Monster High tail but I had no idea what it was! DogMom messaged me with the same info, thank you for the quick identification!

No problem!
