Did Mattel take a cue from Atari and bury their remaining stock in the Arizona desert?

 :haha:

I know I saw her once, but that was ages ago.

Maybe he can get some of his friends to fund a decent MH movie and get some merchandising out.

One of the things seldom discussed about the decline of MH is just the general decline of the popularity of monsters in mainstream media. Obviously monsters wont go away completely but MH hit at the fever pitch of Twilight, Walking Dead and other zombie media, rebooting Teen Wolf, etc.

Superheroes and womens empowerment are much more trendy right now (although I hope the latter just becomes second nature). Superhero monsters would be a bit weird but certainly MHs be yourself, be unique would resonate and could help it gain some traction again.

Also classic fantasy creatures like unicorns and mermaids are trendy right now. I can't help but think if MH wasn't in decline and EAH had been more popular we would have gotten a crossover that leans more towards the EAH side of things.

Honestly, this. There are seeds in both franchises on how to make this some kind of dark ethereal franchise.

When G1 officially ended.

Up until it's last hurrah with Ghoul Rockers, I didn't have a huge problem with the dolls. Sure some were a bit less expensive, but they were still clever (Ghoul Fitness).

Hopefully this two year plan to recover from the debt will help - I can't imagine how would it be if Mattel ever had to file for Bankrupcy :| I'm also super curious as to what caused them to be in such a huge debt.

Me too...surely some of that is not getting a ROI on Gen 2 or EAH.....in general.....but not nearly that much.

That wouldn't be a long-term solution to making the dolls better, maybe only for a year or so.

Can't see the pics.... :|

There are no pictures, just a spreadsheet.

Also bumping to say One more week and they go to Ebay.

I just bought mine from Ebay for 20$.

But I was watching the auction closely and the shipper was in the next town over so it wasn't too costly.

I'm enjoying looking for new Pops.

I sold quite a few dolls and found some I had forgotten about and ended up keeping - I want to tidy up my display of the ones I have left and dust them off, they're rather dusty :(

Oh that's just fine!

Check my spreadsheet;
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IWjk22aIDXicNWsPyVU4cKq1cQQHhk4pvPufsKZ-Rl0/edit?usp=sharing

Unless priced in the appropriate column, they're 8$ each.

3 dolls / 27$, price includes shipping (bubble mailers get heavy!)

US only please.

I will trade no more than 2 dolls for WTW Briar.

Our sale has been going so poorly, because the discounts are awful. The biggest thing I've seen is like 10$ off a full price scooter.

The liquidation DIDN'T start Thursday per my experience and media reports and reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/ToysRus/comments/86bjii/liquidation_is_postponed/

Most likely due to the court not approving the liquidation but I've heard it was due to Charles Lazarus' death on Thursday and Isaac Larian's bid to buy TRU Canada and 200 US stores.

Oh the millionaire who wanted to fundraise, what was it, like 800$ BILLION dollars to save Toys R Us?

Most of that wouldn't go to the employees, and like private citizens have 800$B between us....

Also I was surprised to see MGM is bigger than Mattel, but the latter is a public company.

Where are you finding MGAE annual revenue? I can't find anything very concrete, but http://incfact.com/company/mgaentertainment-vannuys-ca/# says "$100 - $500 million" and wants me to pay $45 for a report.

Mattel is listed as annual revenue US$ 5.456 billion (2016) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mattel citing "Company Financials Mattel, Inc". Google Finance. Retrieved May 18, 2017.

MGAE's wikipedia page say 2$ Billion, but that's from twelve years ago. I was reading (& coincidentally, it seems to have been removed) that MGAE is the largest private toy company, but since the LEGO group soundly beats it, I'm guessing it was just an error.

Ours just had 30% off based on the signs...I didn't even bother to stop, but if I had know the Marvel girls were that cheap, I would have seen if they had more Black Panther...

I still remember the last KB I was in. They were overrun with old, old stock and the prices were horrible until the last week they were open.

Hey, just like TRU.

I remember getting a lot of little rubber Hamtaro figurines from there as a child.

Check the prices of liquidation sales; They often aren't that great.
