Kickstarter linking

I was just curious if there's a general policy about linking to Kickstarter campaigns in the forums, either your own or others that you've found that that forum members might be interested in.

Yes there is. Just like MLPA, we do not allow the linking of Kickstarters.

From our site rules:

Quote
No Pleas for Charity
While we completely sympathize with dire situations, we are not able to accommodate pleas for charity or donations. This rule is in place to protect you more than anything else. It has been our experience that in the long run, this will only cause you more harm than good. If you need donations or charity we highly recommend doing so in your "real life" and not on line. Any posts started will be immediately deleted.

As far as regular kickstarter projects, our  policy is if you are selling something yourself (someone pays...then get something in return), you can link in the appropriate forum...if you are not selling anything, just crowd-funding (for yourself or other projects) we unfortunately do not allow it.

I saw that, but I wasn't sure how broadly it covered.  If it was stuff mostly like GoFundMe or if it also covered crowdfunding that is not charity but definitely is fund raising of one sort or another (business ventures like Kickstarter or Patreon).

Thanks everyone for the clarification. :)
