Another newcomer coming through!
« on: December 08, 2014, 04:43:36 AM »
'llo! I'm Lhianneth, Lhia for short. I'm posting from the suburbs of Sydney, Australia. I am a textile and clothing designer, with an emphasis on alternative fashions. I live with my partner and our two very fluffy, very pushy cats.

I'm a new member to the forums and a fairly new collector, as well. I've been fond of the MH line since it started, but only decided to take the plunge and buy a few about two months back, at the recommendations of a few friends. They suggested that I might enjoy customising and sewing garments for these very fashionable little ghouls, and were they ever right! So far, my little collection is fairly modest, but I'm enjoying every last one of them. I'm still getting accustomed to sewing at such a small scale, but hope to be able to share some of my creations on the forum in future! I'm also working up the courage to customise one of the dolls I bought that arrived with a flawed paintjob.

Dolls seem to be pretty scarce in my immediate area, so I've mostly been relying on online ordering, and I look forward to learning the tricks that fellow Australian collectors use for finding dolls in local shops.  I'm also looking forward to picking a few up when I visit family back in the US next year (a friend has a box of clearance and US-only release dolls that she's been nabbing for me now and again). I'm also waiting on a small haul of new releases from Amazon.

Of my small collection so far, Wydowna and Catrine are my two favourites!

Thanks for reading, I hope to get to know you all soon!

Thank you! I hope they meet expectations, I've seen some gorgeous pieces in the closet sub-forum! (As well as elsewhere online!)

Thank you kindly! ^^

She's really very lovely. I kind of want to buy a second to customise with another colour scheme as well, because she has so much potential for comic-inspired goodness!

Thank you very much, my dear! My holidays are a bit quiet this year, so maybe I'll have the time and courage to post a few things in a couple of weeks. ^^

Welcome to the Arena! I love your name! I want to make sure I have it right in my head. I keep reading like Rhannion, is that right?
I look forward to your creations! If you want keep an eye out for a Tapfetti play set that uses duck tape to make fashions for the dolls as it comes with a doll form. That might help while designing and pinning fabrics. ;)
Live as the world is as it should be, to show it what it can be.

And yes, it has a similar accent pattern. LEE-a-neth (as opposed to LEE-a-neeth).

I've been looking at the Tapefetti set, actually! The dress form showed up in a set of photos I saw online that I thought were too cute.
