Fakies, good for a laugh.

Fakies, if nothing else can at least be good for a laugh.

MH Fakies by Ichigotchi, on Flickr

I was walking passed my local newsagent when out of the corner of my eye a familiar patterned box caught my attention. Looks like re-cast MH head molds on cheapo bodies with atrocious fashion sense. Not worth the $5 each the cashier was asking hah!

Frankies eye-bleed yellow dress is so to die for! I know my eyes did after staring at her too long.

I kind of like the tartan dress that one of the Clawdeen-Fakies is wearing. The Clawdeen-Fakie on the other side is seriously derp-eyed.

Too bad they don't have jointed hands/arms. I have a Frankie rescued from a flea market in dire need of a hand.

What a blatant rip-off, they're even calling them "Monster High".  They are...interesting-looking.  I wouldn't mind having the red and green dress though, it'd be perfect for Christmas.

Sorry for just hopping onto the thread here, but a couple of weeks ago I was in my local TKMaxx (TJMaxx in the US, I think) and saw this young lady...

She was alone on the shelf, alongside a broken boxed Bratz doll and some WoW action figures with wonky paint. I think she's supposed to be a Venus ripoff... her hair wasn't flocked, just painted on the one side.

But hey, a jointed fakie! And it was my first sighting in the wild, so I feel kinda proud... haha ^u^

Ok, I REALLY like that plaid dress on that "clawdeen". I'm not kidding. I would not mind owning that. ._.

I'm also a fan of that red and green dress fakie-Clawdeen to the right is wearing.

Actually, I really love the look of this doll. I looked up the Twilight Teens and some of them actually caught my eye; I might end up buying a few of these fakies so thanks for the heads-up!

Melbourne, Australia.

@Sparrowberries - at least your half Venus knock-off looks a little bit more unique! She could almost work as her own doll.

I am also in the crew that wants that tartan dress!  I think even Frankie's "eye-bleed" dress would be pretty cute! Sans doll, of course :P

How much are those fakies?  I would actually really like one to repaint.

I actually went into the store again today and she was still there! I think she was 12.99 or 9.99 I can't quite remember!

What time is it? Fakie Time!

First up my favorite fakies, Ghoulish girls. If you find one in stores I'd love the blue haired girl!

Restyled and rebodied?

Now for these rather arcuate fakies I found on Taobao, who are unique because the creators tried really hard to mimic actual Monster High dolls. If I was 6, I think I'd be pretty happy with these though.

The ones on the sides are like Frankie-Lala love children. The middle one is an Operetta-Lala love child.

Ew, Nefera + Clawd... That's a weird couple.

All the fakes you could ever want to see:

http://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?SearchText=monster+high+dolls&catId=0&initiative_id=AS_20130626072729

Why have I spent so much money on MH when I could have had "fad girls, this dress look good" for so much less?  It sounds like Abbey did the box work on that one.
