MHA Eye Wonk Discussion Thread
« on: June 21, 2014, 08:43:17 AM »
Edit - New pic in reply, scroll down!

Where do I begin?  I got Viperine just about a week ago.  I was really excited to find her, but soon after deboxing I was disappointed..  I didn't realize the snakes on her head didn't come off.  I thought they were part of her headband.  I have kept her, and tried to get over it, but I am not sure I will.  :P

So, since I may end up selling or trading her, I want to know if she has any eye wonk.  I can't see any myself, but I would love to get some more opinions!

Here are a couple pics:

and

Thanks for your help!

She looks great considering all Viperine's seem to ha e some level of wonk. She does have a very very mild wonk. Her right eye (my right, her left) is slightly higher than her left. Still, she looks better than my Viperine  :P

That's probably the best Viperine I've seen.

Thank you both!   I didn't think it was bad if there was any.  I just couldn't tell for sure and wanted other opinions.  Other eyes to check out her eyes.  lol!

Her left eye looks a little higher than the right, but it's hard to tell since her head is at an angle.

Right... I need to get a straighter, head on pic.  Hmm, I will try to get one tomorrow!

Eye wonk is a weird thing. Sometimes you can see it in person but not in photographs; other times it's the other way around. Take my Twyla, for instance. I thought her eyes were pretty good when I bought her (they were certainly the least wonky I'd seen in person, and I'd looked at a whole bunch of Twylas), but in this head-on shot I took of her recently, her eyes look really wonky.

In light of all the eye wonk threads we have going here, we figured we would start up an official eye wonk discussion thread.

Post away!

Is it just me, or do the CaMs have lower instances of eye wonk?

I had a CMC sea monster with bad wonk, (one eye smaller and higher) but she was custom bait anyway. I find that Jane Boolittle is almost immune to wonk, and when I was picking out a skull shores 5pack, they seemed pretty low on wonk to me, as does my dance class 5pack that got picked up for me.

I have an extra Cat CaM with horribly wonky eyes.  She's the only one I have ever had issue with.  I'm not overly picky about eye wonk anyway.

I'm not really seeing any eye wonk at all from that angle.

In light of all the eye wonk threads we have going here, we figured we would start up an official eye wonk discussion thread.
Good idea!

It's possible, although they're certainly not immune to it. Almost every single triclops I've seen has had her third eye printed slightly above where it should be, for instance.

In my opinion the CAMs are worse. :(
A lot of mine are slightly wonky.. 3eyed-ghoul, harpy and puma-boy are notoriously wonky.. so I eventually gave up on finding a perfect one of either. -_-
Hey! I'm looking for the GNO 4-Pack and SC Rochelle. Please PM me if you think you can help- THANKS! <3

Thank you for this thread! It seems like all of the sudden everyone has become wonk-conscious.

Thats interesting about Jane, literally every one I've ever seen has one eye a tiny bit bigger than the other (sometimes lower too) I've been really struggling to find one where its not really obvious to me.

I find Frankie has eye wonk a lot, I'm guessing its the different coloured eyes that might be causing it. Jackson too because of his piercing yet my Holt (who I didn't even get to choose myself) Has great eye placement! This especially baffles me because he has the same mold as Jackson, unless I got super lucky.

I see eye wonk on Frankie a lot too.  One eye is almost always smaller.  But in the end, this doesn't really bother me.  I have a lot of Frankies and I just kind of expect that of her.  She is the daughter of Frankenstein after all.

I think the only time I was ever bothered by something wonky was when her eyelashes were misprinted so they looked like they had a crease.  But I can really only see it when I examine her closely... and it turned out to be a good thing as I can now tell mine from my niece's Frankie.

Do all of the HTC Abbeys have wonky eyes?
I haven't found a decent one yet. All of them have one eye lower than the other with the eyeliner much bigger on the lower side.

And I recently bought a sig Rochelle with one eye printed slightly smaller than the other. it's given her a paranoid expression. 0_o

All of the ones I've seen do. :( I know what you're talking about with one of the eyes printed lower. I wasn't able to find one that didn't have wonky eye. I'm sure a good one exists out there somewhere!

UGH!  Sig Rochelle!  She was a pain in the butt that girl.  I must have bought 3 or 4 trying to beat that eye wonk.  When I finally found one I was happy with, I found a bald spot on top of her head.

She really tested my MH patience.

Oh yeah, sig Rochelle was notorious for having one eye bigger than the other (you couldn't really tell just looking at the eyes; you had to look at her eyelashes, with the smaller eye's lashes being noticeably shorter than the other lashes).
