Trying to remember cloth-staining prevention solution
« on: April 14, 2018, 06:47:32 AM »
I think I read somewhere in this forum, that in order to prevent clothes from staining, you should leave them in a solution of water with a spoonful of vinegar overnight. I don't remember if this was the exact recipe, so I'm asking for confirmation.

I use Requiem's method (taken directly from her site)

Quote
For this you will need:
A bowl
Vinegar
Water
Salt

Pour 1/4 cup of vinegar and 1tsp of salt into a bowl with approx 4 cups water. Drop in the articles of doll clothing. Swish ’em around a little bit until they are thoroughly saturated with the mix and let them sit for about 30 mins.

Take them out, rinse them with water and a little bit of soap (hand soap will do) in the sink. Let air dry.

For heavily saturated/dyed etc items I will leave it in longer, like an hour. Works for me:)
Where oh where has my Ghoulia gone? Oh where oh where could she be? (Seriously Mattel, where is she??!!)

Echoing what dragonlady posted.  That's what I use as well.  It's called "color fasting" and it works wonders!
