Valadomi's clueless preloved finds
« on: December 26, 2017, 05:02:07 PM »
Hoping this is the right place to post this. Forums are confusing

I am so new to this, so I would really appreciate any feedback on my finds and whether they are okay to customise or whether I should restore or just not touch ever.. I really have no idea, and I don't want to commit a collector crime and change something that is rare (if that is even a risk).

So please take a look at my latest find and let me know your thoughts!

These were bought locally for 20 in all - please forgive the fluffy blanket... cat.

So, what's the verdict?

I don't think anything is terribly rare, but even if it was, they're yours now, and wathever makes you enjoy them more(Be it leave them as they are, repaint their faces, redress them, literally wathever)  is fair game :)

And I did made a (male) scarecrow using an armless Operetta as a base, and made his arms/ands out of felt and pipecleaners, so that's an option :)

Also congrats on your haul and welcome to the forum!

Good to know Ameyal! I guess I'm used to ponies, and some get rather upset if anything happens to one of the original ones, but I suppose they are a fair bit older.

Also thanks!! ^^

I'd personally keep the Werecat Twins and the Frankies, then have it at the rest. :D

Okay! Any reason why those specifically?

Got a few more preloved beauties, with a lot of accessories (including a few I think belong to other dolls)

I keep planning to customise them all, but when I get my hands on them I really struggle to take that step. Marisol has captured my heart a little bit, although I think I'll do what I'm doing with my Gigi - just alter her to suit the image I have in my head... and then keep her to myself....

Anyway, here they are all lined up (except Avea Trotter, whom I've already started customising)

The dolls look like they are in very decent condion.  Frankie looks adorable in those glasses. I do not follow webisodes just like the dolls so no clue if she has glasses with one release or not. Shoes on Frankie and Torelei are not original.Marisol is interesting and her feet really are massive!
