MH-Merch Search by Character (New order?)

Hello

At the moment I'm adding a lot of new releases to MH-Merch.
Besides this I also requested by BF to move the "search by character" option to a separate page instead of the launch-page with all the databases.
Together with this transfer I also want to organize the "search by character" page more. However I have no idea what's the best way to do so.

At the moment it's all the adult characters on alphabetical order. After that there's a section with the Fright-Mares and then the pets.
But I want to change this, the Frightmare and Pet section will remain unchanged. So I was thinking. What about this?

- Main Character (from Both generations + Ari and Moanica for G2, but who belongs to the main characters in G1? Only the squad or also Spectra etc?
- Characters by Movie (however I think we'll get some small sections then with only Jinafire and Skelita for Scaris. Or maybe a Movie Character Section?
- A section for the mansters? Think that could work.
- Sort by species? So all the werecat/werewolf characters together, Ghost-like monsters vampires?
- A section for Family Members?

Just getting confused here what do to. What doesn't help is that some of them belong in two categories like Clawd.
For now I'm just thinking of doing:

- Main Characters
- Ghouls
- Mansters

Should work I guess. If you have some ideas feel free to let them know. I think a good example of what I want is something like I did with MLP Merch: https://data.mlpmerch.com/characters/

PS: We're also planning on splitting MH G1 en G2 soon as well. To make it more organized.

I always saw the core group of Gen 1 being Frankie, Draculaura, Clawdeen, Lagoona, Cleo, and Ghoulia.  I know Lagoona and Ghoulia especially tended to drift away, especially near the end, there, but since the original focus was on those six, and Deuce as the "core male" though to simplify he'd of course go into Mansters, that was the core six for me.

I like the Core Ghouls, Ghouls, Mansters idea.  I would still maybe do Movie Only characters, though.  I just feel there's so many other characters that another branch of Ghouls might not hurt.

I agree with Kozern. I dont consider Spectra to be core.

I love your idea to sort by movies. And that'd put Spectra under "Why Do Ghouls Fall in Love"; her movie debut.

Sorting by species would be cool too.

- This is my personal opinion. I understand why it has a nicer setting the characters' list divided by type, gen and movies, but I like it better when they are organized alphabetically as it's easier to identified. If I were new, that's how I would rather search.

I like alphabetical order, too. Easier to remember, less confusing, and then there's no debate about who goes where
