Anyone think a Clawdia reroot with some dark red yarn would look good? Her hair is soo tangled right now but give me your thoughts and opinions :)

Honestly, I think Clawdia (and the other Wolf siblings) look great with bright coloured hair. I haven't seen a Clawdia with red yarn in particular, but I have seen some done with fire engine red doll hair in general, and it's a pretty stunning look. Especially if you keep her stock face-up, since she has that bold red lippie.

Hmm, do you mean brushed yarn, or would you keep the yarn in its natural state, so it looks like braided hair? Either way, I think if you got a shade of red that matched her makeup (assuming it's her signature version), it'll look great!

Yeah, but her hair is so damaged :/ I think I'll go for it!

Possibly and most likely her natural state. I might as well paint her shoes a red or something :> I could unravel the yarn a little but I hate the full unravel effect deeply. It's kind of like operetta's favorite color but a deeper. Kind of a dark red apple look.

If anyone knows what glue to use and what size needle for yarn reroots let me know! :)

Looking forward to this reroot!
Thank you. Although I'm not sure how I'm going to do it since all my needles are starting to weaken out

Whew. Got her hair out! I swear her head was 90% glue! My thumbs want to bleed right now... someone please let me know what size sewing needle or how I can do yarn hair :) planning to root her tomorrow or Friday.

MyFroggyStuff recently made a custom Descendants Mal doll, and she used a slightly thicker needle with a threader guide. I don't know what size it would be, though. She also tied the end with a knot, so no need for glue. I would probably do 2 knots, so it's a bit thicker & less worry over being pulled out. If you did want to use glue, I think fabric glue would be fine.

* Just did a little browsing on my country's sewing/craft kinda store, and it looks like the type of needle you want is embroidery needles. They've got a larger 'eye' so it'll be easier to thread the yarn through (but a threader guide will still make it easier). And I'd also use a warm hairdryer to soften the vinyl, as it'll make it easier to poke through.

I have no idea of the technical terms, but what I use is a needle that is larger than a doll head(so no need of pliers) that came in a cheap sewing pack.
And at first I ised a thread guide, but that broke rather easily, and was very annoying to do that for every thread. I eventually sttled on using a plastic-y thread that look like fishing line( again, sorry, I don't know the technical terms) and did a small "permanent" loop of about two inches, and just pull the yarn using that. The thread sometimes comes undone or outright breaks, but is less annoying and much faster than pulling the thread through the eye of the needle each time.
I also have a thumbtack(or a thicker needle) to widen the holes before pulling the yarn.

I've done a couple of brushed yarn re-roots, but I completely brushed out the yarn, so I just used my normal re-rooting needle.  I'm not sure what size you would use for unbrushed yarn.

As for the glue, Fabri-Tac works perfectly. :)

Would any kind of fabric glue work?

Most likely.
Fabri-Tac is one of the most popular glues for re-roots because it's readily available, very strong, and waterproof once it's cured.  But yeah, most fabric glues should work just fine.

Aleene's Tacky Glue is another popular choice.

Whew I finished half of her hair. I didn't do too bad! And it's not a fluffy mess. She looks cute now. I have her a homemade shirt with sdcc wisp's shorts and Clawdia' original jewelry and shoes sock. Oh and man I am tired. Let me know if I should continue guys.

Why wouldn't you continue?  You said that she's half finished and looking cute, so why are you considering stopping?

And yeah, re-rooting is exhausting.  It's simultaneously one of the easiest and most boring parts of the customization process. :P

I'm probably just going to flock the other half with pieces of red yarn chopped up. I'm going to stop because I like how she looks half shaved :) I think she looks sassy and stylish too :p going to put pictures when done :)

I am thinking of making a Rochelle and operetta reroot with something me of my new yarn :) anyways here are the pics of Clawdia.
Before ( keep in mind my camera was just being kind about her hair and she was a frizzy sticky mess! )

After

Best hair for Rochelle?

And operetta!

Keep in mind that operetta in the pictures is my collectors operetta and the one I'm rerooting is drying in the sink in hope to possibly have her hair fixed. Also the Rochelle has some "stiff" hair :/

Haha, thanks! I'm selling her for $13 right now but she has a different outfit I thought would look better :)

I actually didn't reroot operetta due to her legs just falling off?
But Rochelle got a cute pinkish one and I'm selling her for $15 right now
