Thanks, neon_jellyfish! How was your theatre festival?

I've started a box with my 'to paint' large dollie items in it. And went to IKEA yesterday to get cushions for the deck seating.

I think tomorrow I'll have time to fix and paint the wood lap tray! Then I can start a new list.

The festival wasawesome, thanks! There were shows with scene sets and puppets made by awesome artist, and they let people come on stage and take a close look at those after each show ended, it was awesome. Stories were also nice, but I was so charmed by those scenes. For example, there was a huge (2.5 m / 8,2 ft) elephant puppet on wheels that had enitre oriental palace instead of howdah (that's the big, usually quite ornate seat for passengers) on its back. If I had room for something like that, I'd love to have my dolls displayed in it.

My progress is stagnating due to other things that needed to be done, but at least we found mom's box!

Good news on your mom's box! Yay!

The elephant sounds amazing. I would love that too! I have several elephants for my MH, two 'adult' sized ones big enough for them to ride and look realistic, and a smaller 'baby' one (although he still has tusks!) that can complete the 'herd'. A doll display in a large palace OR howdah on an elephant - what a great idea!!!

Sounds like the fest was fun. I, too, like being able to go behind the scenes and see how things were done, close-ups of the costuming, etc.

Good luck on your progress for the rest of the week! Thank you so much for partnering with me on this, it's really helped me to have someone to check in with, mutual support and encouragement, etc.

Thank you for starting this thread! There are things that are much easier to doo together, even if it's "just" a verbal support.

So I finally managed to take some photos for May photo challenge (and it's not even July yet, yay! ), but I want to post all photos in order (so far I have prompts no. 1, 2, 9 and 13), so I'll post them when I'm finished.

I'm putting facebook avatar pic off for now, because I can't figure out what I want (which makes it hard to draw).

From non-planned goals, my window garden is finally all done!

So my new goals for this week (and probably the two following weeks, too) are:

1) Get done at least half of necklace I owe to my friend (it's been two shameful years since I promised her to make it).
2) Sort out the Boogeyman made of clothing lying on the bottom of my closet, decide what to keep and what to donate/recycle.
3) Finally read the book from library and return it.

Awesome! Congrats on your May pic challenge progress!

Maybe I might just have to let the wood desk tray go?! If it's not *important* enough for me to get to, I can just send it off to Goodwill? Will ponder that.

Updated deck progress: Got burlap for the deck curtains, seam binding to hem it with (last 'test' curtains shredded from the bottom because they weren't hemmed), AND found some awesome fleece for the seating pillows - red poppies and green leaves/stems on an aqua background - to go with my apple-green denim that I'll use for seating cushions. Have sat out on the deck several times in the last week, enjoying a cuppa tea or brushing our dog.

Anyway, how did it get to be Wednesday already?!

Updated goals list:
1) set up task list doc and hours tracking doc for new work gig
2) cut deck curtain panels and hem/bind edges and hang curtains (need to buy one more set of hanging rings - Home Depot I think?)
3) cut and hang one more panel of reed fencing on railing for shade (one panel isn't enough, need two to block sun)

Have a good week, neon_jellyfish!

This week passed so quickly, I can't believe it's going to be Sunday tomorrow!

DogMom, the work on deck seems to be progressing nicely! I'm sure it will be wondeeful place to rest when it's done.
Good luck with your next goals!

Hi neon_jellyfish! Yes the deck is coming together. Slowly! Did I mention I got new black plastic planter boxes for the support brackets I have? So plants are on the To Get list too.

Went through some more boxes...2 boxes of recycling and a bunch of stuff to shred tomorrow.

This week still going to keep the deck goals, plus take some boxes of stuff to Goodwill, and start pulling books to either sell or donate.

Sigh - deck stuff took a backseat last week, as 'new job' stuff took over.

This week:
1) Finish rearranging living room furniture
2) Take two living room rugs to rug cleaners
3) Donate leftover DVDs to the little free library box down the street - for someone else to enjoy!

In good news/progress - yesterday we took a bunch of DVDs to the half-price book store to sell - made $27! Maybe coulda made more selling on ebay (or not!), but having that moola in-hand and having the DVDs out of the house beats waiting for someone to buy and having to store it in the meantime!

That's the important thing…get back in the game when you can!

DVDs were donated, and by the next time I passed by that library box (about an hour), they were mostly GONE!

Living room is on today's agenda. One living room rug is vacuumed and rolled/tied up and ready to go into the van tonight when hubs gets home. Second rug likely later this week, then to the cleaners by week-end!

Boogeyman down! However, I didn't touch the necklace and got another book as a present, so of course I had to read that one first... I'm The Ultimate Procrastinator.

Just found this thread and it is such a good idea! I didn't post on Monday, but I did accomplish some stuff this week! Well, one major thing was clearing off my desk in my doll room. Now I have space for my laptop and all my most loved dolls of the moment. I hope to remember to check back in with you guys on Monday ^.^

Monday!

My successes: Got rugs to cleaners, laundry is caught up, got central AC serviced and it's working great.

This week:
1) Catch up on some financial details
2) Set up sewing machine and go through my pile of mending
3) Catch up on dishes

Nite!

Alright. I'll join in here.

This week I want to:
1) Take a short walk in the evenings.
2) Fold the clothes in my drawers.
3) Try and get to my jobs 5 to 10 minutes early.

Totally forgot to post yesterday!

This week I want to:
1.) Run at least 3 times
2.) Clean off my craft table
3.) Get caught up on laundry (or at least get last week's done)

I'm slowly working on my old goals and real life keeps getting in the way, but I decided to add a bit different goal for this week: start each day with a glass of water or a cup of tea (without sugar), not coffee, and hopefully make it a habit. I'm still allowing myself to drink coffee, just not as the first thing I do, because I found that when I do that, I end up neglecting water intake for the whole day.

Whew! Started a new work gig recently, and many things have fallen through the cracks, but am starting to get a handle on the work and so circling back around to weekly goals! How's everyone doing? I'm glad to be back.

neon_jellyfish, I love the idea of upping the water intake. I've been drinking a lot more over the summer months, but now that the weather is cooling off in Chicago, it's a good idea to think about myself.

writtenhuman and rayedelsol, how are things on your end?

Goals for me this week (an early posting for NEXT week since it's just about Friday, lol):
1) Do the dog laundry at the laundromat
2) Clear an area for and bring in from the van the new-to-me doll cabinet ($15 at thrift store, has glass in the top half of the doors, and solid on the bottom half, to hide clothes and misc) - will need to be painted with a white chalk paint or wash, but at least get it inside and in place!
3) Maybe - for the doll cabinet - fix the little damaged piece on the bottom, replace or tighten the door screws, have 1 or 2 new shelves cut for the inside

Welcome back, DogMom! Glad to hear you're doing well in your job!

I was starting every day with a glass of water ever since and I think it really helps me. I also added a new rule - for every cup/glass of something with sugar and/or caffeine, I have to drink two glasses of water.

I'm finally done with that book, but I've had creative block with that necklace. This weekend will be busy, but I promised myself to finish it next week.

So my goals for next are:
1) finish the necklace
2) draw every day, even if it's just a small doodling (it's part of reclaiming my creative abilities which I lost due to depression), and make it a habit
3) plant my orchids into fresh bark/fern
