Greetings, Monsters
« on: February 13, 2017, 05:06:09 PM »
Greetings! Call me Eve. I'm going to do my intro by straight up answering the questions from the other thread, so here goes.

How old are you?
25. It’s funny that I'm here, actually, because as a kid I didn’t really like dolls. I was much more into “functional toys” like Legos and Kinex.
Where do you live? State, Country? Planet?
I'm reasonably certain the sky is blue here. Also there's a fair amount of foliage.

Do you work or attend school? Profession or major?
Both. Professional fabric handler. English Major. Love both, although my goal post-college is teacher.

Who are the important people in your life?
I promise I have them, but I don’t want to get speech-y. Next.

How long have you been collecting?
I actually started with ball-jointed dolls... wow, long time ago. Years back. I don't even remember when. From there, I got really into Pureneemos and Obitsus, and I now have a small army of them. I’d never really been into dolls smaller than MSDs before that, but from the Pureneemos, it was a short jump into MH. I've only been collecting MH for about a month now.

What made you want to collect Monster High dolls?
Making characters. Customizing in general. MH has a specific aesthetic and being able to pick them up cheaply emboldens me when it comes to potentially destructive mods.

Tell us about your collection!
I have a huge collection of MH dolls from thrift stores and eBay, most of which are in questionable condition, waiting for customization. Other than that, I have a small core collection of whole dolls (with their outfits and all their stuff) that includes only my favorites (no other dolls are safe from the mods).

Welcome to the Arena, Eve!  (Love your username, by the way. <3)

I love how you described your transition from BJDs to MH.  For me it was exactly opposite.  I only collected 1:6 scale dolls.  Then Mattel released the Frightfully Tall Ghouls, I fell in love with the larger scale, and soon after bought my first BJD.

I would love to see pics of your collection some day!  Especially any that you've customized.

We're glad that you've joined us and we hope that you love it here! ^.^
