Question about cameras
« on: April 17, 2017, 10:06:57 AM »
Not sure where to put this. I really want to get a new camera, since my old one won't turn on or charge and my iPhone isn't cutting it. Anyone have any suggestions? Nothing too fancy, just something that takes less blurry pics and videos.

I'm also in the market for a new camera, so I'll be following this thread as well.  :)

I used a Sony Cybershot too, for several years before buying my Nikon DLSR. I really liked it...good features, easy to use, etc.

If you go DLSR, you can buy a basic camera body and then most of your moola will be spent on lenses. I got a basic Nikon body boxed in a set with an all purpose lens, then spent googobs on a long range lens.

I have an Android phone because I feel the camera (Samsung) is much better (for me) than an iPhone. I'm not impressed with the iPhone camera. And I have a Mac laptop.

If you have blurry pics, you might want to try a tripod. Even a monopod can help you steady your camera. Also check your speed or scene settings.

If you don't have a tripod, bracing your hand, arm, or body against something stationary can help. Also, you can exhale, pause, then click - your body is at its most still at a deep exhale/pause.

And don't drink coffee on a shooting day. lol

The Sharper Image if you have one around you, if not, Best Buy or hhgregg is fine right? Sorry, not an expert.

Any place like Best Buy that will let you actually test the cameras feel and quality. You may have your mind set on a specific camera, get to the store, pick it up and hate the weight of it.
