^Your dog pics are lovely! I like them a lot, especially the second one for some reason. :) I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks some of the pictures take a really long time to color, though:P
Thank you!!!! Yeah they really do take a LONG time!

MissMay thank you for suggesting Hanna Lynn, I picked up one of her Fairies, Mermaid and other whimsical creatures books, and I LOVE it!!!!! here's my two latest colorings!

Most are too busy for my liking, but I got a cat themed one as a gift that I really like. I used sharpie to color the gumball theme scene. The page under it, that soaked up ink as I colored, looks so rad.

I have extreme anxiety. I even get anxious picking the color of things, so sometimes coloring is too much for me. The adult books are a nightmare to me; my eyes swim and I feel anxious just looking at them.

I use kid coloring books. It's great for practicing focus and being present. Since I have so many probs making choices tis a challenge to just select a crayon to use.

I make copies of the pages = everlasting coloring books

I recently picked up the Moana coloring book. The pages are perforated, for easy removal. Paper is a nice heavy weight and most of the pages are single sided. With a full page drawing on one side and an abstract all over print on the other side. Making it easier if pens bleed through. Which annoys me because it wrecks a perfectly good page.

I have an "adult" coloring book, but I haven't touched it yet. There's so much intricate detail that I find myself trying to figure out good color schemes and end up doing...absolutely nothing. I guess it's just a weird fear of "messing it up" since adult coloring books are ridiculously pricey for what they are (usually like twice or thrice the price of a kid's coloring book). Also, I love cartoons, so I tend to like the ones intended for kids more.

I had a lot of fun coloring this horse into a rainbow zebra, even if it's a coloring page from an ice cream parlor intended for kids

I don't really color much on my own anymore, but I do occasionally meet up with a friend of mine, and we usually color some pictures together and get really crazy with it.

 a "silly" picture :P

I know what you mean about getting overwhelmed by the adult coloring books, but once I got into them I found them very easy to do and relaxing. Sometimes the Mandala designs can be a bit much but otehrwise I really enjoy them!

Your skeletor pic is AWESOME and that rainbow zebra is beautiful, thanks so much for sharing your pics with us!!!!

Had to share this one here even though I already posted on FB, it's almost Halloween and I just happened upon this witch in my new book XD  :

All of those lines are SO annoying! They're literally everywhere and it kinda hurts my eyes. Like, as an artist, I just wanna shade things and lines get in the way of that. Line art is great, but lines all over the places I want to color are a no go.

I hate the pages that are sooooo complex and detailed that it's basically one pencil mark at a time. To me that's MORE stressful. If the page is more than about 30% black, I usually don't even bother.

I'm trying to get back into coloring again, because it really helps me when I do it. I bought some new books with some of my Christmas money, (since most of my other ones are in storage, atm) and started in on a page from the Tokidoki Coloring Pad tonight. I'm using my new Prismacolor markers for the first time, as well, and am completely loving them! <3

I'm not, but my sister in law got into it against her own will. She thought it was a bit contrary to the concept of art therapy because it's more restricted/less freeing, but then someone had her try it ... and she's hooked. It's a good, quick way to destress from the kids, I guess. haha

We bought her the GoT colouring book about a year and a half ago for fun. I'm not sure how much she's gotten to colour in on it yet.

I am now! I was hesitant about it for a long time since I never saw any I liked. But after expressing to my boyfriend once or twice that I should buy one someday because sometimes I just want to color without having to draw something first, he got me one for my birthday/Valentines!! A World of Warcraft one, I absolutely love it.
I just started it today. I've been nervous to because I felt like I'd ruin it, so I picked an easy one for my first page- A murloc!

Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

It's not done yet but here's my progress so far from this morning. After my boyfriend left for work I couldn't sleep again so I went outside with tea and music and colored until my hands got painfully cold and then came back inside. (Still a lot colder outside than I would've thought!) I'm looking forward to him seeing it because he was excited I was finally using it!! I just took so long because all the pictures are so gorgeous and I was afraid I'd ruin them all. xD
I've never used a coloring book or page before this, even as a kid.

I got one for Xmas, but the motifs are far and wide, aka traveling. xD I appreciate the thought, but I'd rather wanted one with animals, like butterflies or Asian stuff. :3 Still gonna try it!

Here's some more progress on my Murloc!
It's a slow process, lol.
I'll try to take a better picture later on when I do more or get done.

Thank you!!! Just Prismacolor pencils.

The regular ones, not watercolor ones?

Very rich, deep color. An entirely new level of 'coloring book' art. What did your BF say when you showed him?

Thank you both so much!! I'm so flattered. Just the regular pencils. I've never used watercolor before.

He's really really liking it so far! Everytime he looks at it he just keeps saying "Oh my god!" and "Holy crap!" among other things, lol, and gives it endless compliments. He can't wait to see it finished.

The picture's a lot darker because of bad lighting so it doesn't show a lot of colors or details. When I progress more I'll take another photo that'll be more vibrant.
