Valentine's Day is nigh, where are all the single people at?
« on: February 11, 2016, 10:01:48 PM »
Valentine's Day is nearly upon us, but not all of us have a significant other to celebrate with.

*ahem, cough, cough* me *cough, cough*  Man, I must have something stuck in my throat.

So all you single monsters and fairytale creatures out there, tell me what your plans are for this most romantic of holidays.  Or if you do have someone special, you can post you're plans here too.  ;)

I'm going to bake myself a chocolate heart shaped cake and then take that cake out on a date to go see Deadpool in theaters. And if I'm lucky, I might even get a slice.  ;)

I've been with the same guy for almost 10 years, but we decided to kinda just skip Valentine's Day this year. It's really weird: I keep forgetting it's happening, because we have no plans, but then people mention it, and I start to feel guilty that I didn't get him anything, despite what we decided... and I honestly think he's dealing with the same thing, so we'll probably be celebrating it again next year.  ^^;

Single here. But man I love going through all the stuff they put out for V-Day.

My plans are the same as everyday but Wednesday. Get off work, go home, sleep/play with stuff/hang with roommate, and then work again.

Although "avoid restaurants" will be added, I guess. XD

I guess you could buy some Monster High Valentine's Day cards (funny, I don't think I've seen one with Valentine's picture on it...) and send them to all your secret crushes.  <3

Although nothing quite sets the romantic mood than a movie date to see Deadpool (Sorry girls, he's taken! He's married to Dracula's ex-wife, so you probably don't want to go messing with that.)

Lol my boyfriend and I are going to see Deadpool too. We decided to keep it cheap this year and just cook at home a nice dinner and play some video games. We are even going to the movie early so we get the "early bird special" ticket prices. I'm trying to make myself some new earrings to wear but the pattern I'm using is giving me trouble.

One year when we were both single my sister and I decided to be each other's Valentine. We got all dressed up and went out to dinner at our favorite Indian restaurant and gave each other gifts. That was a really good year.

Another year her and I went and got a bunch of paper and stickers and made homemade Valentines to give out to our friends and co-workers.  It was just like in grade school and was super fun.

NinaMarie, that sounds like a great time with your sister.

Husband and I are going out for lunch to the local steak-house.  Same place we went to for last year's wedding anniversary.  He's getting a Star Wars t-shirt & some gingerbread men.

My single sister is going on a date with her two kids to the movies   She doesn't go out much, and wanted to treat them to a nice day out.

Not single, but it's not a big holiday for my partner and me. I don't think we've ever celebrated with more than a "good morning, Happy VD" and immature giggles.

We're having friends over for a dinner party/CAH free-for-all (the date is purely coincidental; a friend is in town for a sister's wedding, and we only see her once a year at best). There will be twister. And I think heart-shaped cookies from one of the attendees, but that's about it.

I plan to spend the day wallowing in self loathing, and then watch the season premiere of The Walking Dead. Lol.

The partner and I never do anything for Valentine's. We were planning to take a long walk through the park as we usually do of a weekend, but he ripped a pair of his work pants during the week, so I have a feeling I'll be spending valentine's day sitting in a chair at the department store bored out of my mind while he shops for a new pair of pants...

the boyfriend doesn't actually care about superhero movies...

There is a general sort of bored feeling these days of superhero movies, as a genre, having jumped the shark. That said, many people seem to be opting to put aside that general apathy after seeing the trailer for Deadpool.

I'm a single lady and that's never changing. My dog has a class Valentine's day to progress in getting his service dog certification. Otherwise my daughter will make me a card, I got her a sweet screams draculaura, and we'll nom on some chocolate.

Self loathing is overrated, and so is coupledom. Buy yourself flowers or chocolate or a nice dinner. You don't need someone else to.  :)

I'm married but the hubby and I are both more excited for the premier of the Walking Dead. Lol

I've also had to drop quite a bit on some car repairs so that's my V-day present. Getting my car fixed.

Not sure what I'm doing. My sister's birthday is the 16th so maybe celebrate that early. It's been almost a year since she was diagnosed with cancer so I want to make it special.

I'm single but a friend has asked me to be his Valentine as a friend. He recently moved to another state so we are going to watch a movie while talking on skype and catch up a bit. Then later I have plans to make a cake and play board games with my friends.

I'm single (happiily so), and my kitties are my Valentines. :)  I don't do anything special for them except maybe just give them more cuddles and loving than usual.  This year I'm in a seasonal bowling league that meets on Sundays, in addition to my regular Saturday night league.  It's a pretty large league, it takes up the entire alley (50 lanes) and they have food platters and such.  So I'll enjoy myself that way.  I love bowling so it will be loads of fun.
love & prayers, Lynda :)
